This time, due to the small number of participants, there were only five of us, a group of friends. The travel agency initially asked if we wanted to switch to another Chinese tour, but we felt an English tour would be fine. So, the travel agency directly arranged for a Korean driver who spoke simple English to pick us up from the hotel in a private car, allowing all five of us to participate in the activities. The entire travel experience was simply joyful and unforgettable. It's important to highlight that the driver was incredibly friendly and thoughtful. Our luggage was a bit heavy, and he proactively helped us carry it. He recommended local snacks to us 😋. Knowing we didn't speak Korean, he meticulously asked staff at each attraction for directions and guided us to the correct entrance. For example, when playing luge, he accompanied us up the mountain, led us through putting on safety gear, and guided us on how to choose which path to take for the luge ride. Additionally, during meal times, the driver carefully asked the restaurant owner about the barbecue steps and even cooked for us himself, allowing us to savor authentic local delicacies. Therefore, I sincerely want to thank the driver for making our trip so enriching 🫶🏻🫶🏻🥹. Furthermore, we were extremely satisfied with the itinerary and activity arrangements. It felt like a local tour that transitioned from a Seoul city walk to exploring mountains and rivers. The Hwagae Garden was incredibly beautiful. In the early stages, there were no other visitors, so we had the entire place to ourselves and could take photos everywhere. Although there was an additional charge to take the monorail up to the Hwagae Mountain Skywalk, the scenery was breathtaking. With blue skies and white clouds, walking on the skywalk offered panoramic views of the entire countryside, with a distant glimpse of the North Korean border. The locals were also very friendly; even with language barriers, they actively tried to communicate with us. The monorail ride was also worthwhile, like a slow roller coaster, with butterflies fluttering around (this is true, there were really many butterflies 🦋) and beautiful scenery along the way. The Gyodong Yongri Market is just a small market with a few shops selling traditional local snacks that are hard to find in Seoul. They offer samples to visitors and don't pressure you to buy. The Jeju yuzu rice puffs recommended by the driver were absolutely delicious – highly recommended! Regarding the food, although the quality was just average, being able to personally experience the local barbecue culture and taste the preparation of authentic local dishes was still worth it. The driver's cooking skills were excellent; it was my first time tasting such delicious instant noodles 🥹😋. I really want to ask him for his cooking tips. The luge was really thrilling and fun, but unfortunately, the itinerary only included one ride. You need to pay extra to ride 2 or 3 times. It was clear that the entire trip was a local tour, with only locals and no other foreign tourists. I really liked this aspect, as it allowed us to truly experience the local culture and the simple, rural way of life. The luge also had very few people, so there was no need to queue, and we could quickly ride twice. Finally, I once again sincerely thank the driver. His thoughtfulness and dedication created an unforgettable memory for our group of five. I truly thank the driver (I hope he sees this review); he silently but diligently took care of us. Driver, thank you so much! 🫶🏻
The luge ride was so much fun! First, you take the cable car up, and the scenery is also beautiful. There are several cameras along the way that take photos of your luge ride. You can get one printed on the spot, and download the rest of the photos 👍 The tour guide said it's available all year round unless there's severe wind and rain. We came in June, and the weather was great. The hillsides were covered in beautiful flowers. In winter, the hillsides are covered in white snow. The Hanjeongsik (Korean set meal) is also great for experiencing various Korean side dishes. The Cho Yang Bang Jik Cafe is beautifully decorated, and their famous salt bread, coffee, and desserts are all good. The handkerchief stamping experience was also fun, but it's only 20 minutes, so everyone needs to be quick, haha. You can take it home as a souvenir 😄 Thanks to our tour guide, Sammi, today, she was wonderful!
Our family had a great time riding the luge and railbike, which was the highlight of this day tour. My kids also enjoyed feeding the seagulls. Our tour guide, Rachel, was very helpful and explained the itinerary very well in Chinese.
1. Itinerary Planning: The itinerary content is extremely rich and fulfilling, and the time allocation for activities is appropriate. However, it is recommended to add about 30 minutes more for visiting Songwol-dong Fairy Tale Village, allowing group members to take photos and check in in front of the colorful murals. 2. Staff: Tour guide Mr. Teddy and the driver were both very professional and responsible! The weather was quite hot that day, and the driver would turn on the air conditioning in advance before the group members got on the bus, so that they could have a comfortable ride. In addition, his driving skills were excellent, ensuring safe and prompt transportation between attractions! Special thanks to tour guide Mr. Teddy for his dedicated efforts in the hot weather, helping group members with attraction tickets, arranging lunch, leading tour activities, and other matters. He also specifically reminded group members to pay attention to safety, drink more water, and avoid heatstroke. You can truly feel Mr. Teddy's care for the group members.
June hits different! we glide through yellow flower fields on the Ganghwa mega luge. Lunch stop at Songwol-dong Village. Quick detour to Sinpo Market (good to skip unless you’re into wet markets) Feeding seagulls on the ferry, so chaotic fun prawn crackers gone in seconds! Wrapped up with a great exercise , a scenic 40-min ride on the Yeongjong seaside rail bike totally different vibe from Gapyeong and we loved it! There’s a photographer here at Gapyeong who captures very good photos too. Big thanks to our guide Rachel for being so thoughtful & informative. (PS-A flag would be super helpful for guides in big group tours to spot them easily!)
It's our second time visiting South Korea, but this tour truly made our experience even more amazing because TEDDY was excellent at explaining our tours. He used three languages: Korean, Mandarin, and English, which greatly helped many tourists. I'd give him 100/10 stars! We'll be back again soon, and he'll be our tour guide once more. THANKS, TEDDY! I hope you'll listen to the music I mentioned; SB19 is truly an amazing boyband, hehehe. See you soonest! Thank you so much for accommodating us, even though you had a hard time talking to us (three languages at a time, WOW! 🤯😲). I WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO MY FRIENDS IF THEY COME TO SOUTH KOREA!! ☺️☺️☺️
I highly recommend this tour for anyone traveling to Korea with children or elderly family members! You can comfortably reach more distant places by tour bus, and these one-day tours don't include any shopping stops! It's a full day of fun and activities! After my first time booking, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Even if it rains, the tour guide will adjust the itinerary so we can still experience all the planned activities! The time spent at each stop is also just right! For first-time visitors to Korea, I also recommend using WowPass. You can purchase CU and Olive Young e-vouchers through the app and get 10% cashback (which can be used like cash). Additionally, it can be linked to Tmoney (similar to Taiwan's EasyCard), and you can top up Korean Won with a credit card! (If you have a great credit card rewards program, you can also use your own credit card for other purchases.) For first-time users downloading and registering for WowPass, you can use the invitation code "Z5RWPEF9" to get an additional 0.5% cashback on foreign currency top-ups!
The luge ride was fun, but it required a lot of arm strength. The track was quite long, lasting about 8 minutes. Afterwards, we had lunch in Chinatown and then visited the nearby Fairytale Village. The tour guide designated a specific restaurant for us, supposedly to tell us where the tour bus would be parked. This arrangement was very strange, as lunch was at our own expense, and I don't understand why we had to go to a particular restaurant. We only stayed at Sinpo Market for a brief 20 minutes, just enough to walk around, nothing special. Then we went on a boat to feed seagulls, which was a lot of fun with a large flock of enthusiastic seagulls, though the boat ride was only 15 minutes. Finally, we went on the rail bike. Since it was a weekday, we were lucky enough to get a two-person bike and didn't have to share with other tour members.
The guide is very nice and delivers itinerary and instructions very clearly. Very fun day! Got the chance to feed seagulls :D the rail bike was interesting! A 'U-turn' at the end manually and comes back the same way. Luge Route 1 was sooooo intense and fun really recommend!!!
