Avaliações
The tour guide was wonderful and very kind, ensuring a truly enjoyable day. I especially enjoyed the train market. I hopped on an individual boat as soon as we reached the floating market, experiencing a wonderful tour of the river. I grew up in New York, where we had many fireflies, so I didn't necessarily need to see them again, but I believe others truly appreciated it, especially those who haven't experienced fireflies in their lives as I did as a child. Overall, it was a great trip, and the tour guide was wonderful. I highly recommend it.
I originally thought it would be just okay because I had already visited the railway market and another floating market. However, our Thai guide was excellent and led us to see many fireflies. Today, we chartered a boat and only paid 40 baht per person. It was a great trip and definitely deserves 5 stars.
We participated in a small group tour with hotel transfer. A clean van with three rows of seats picked us up earlier than the scheduled time of 12:00 PM. I was worried I might get motion sickness because the van smelled of incense, but I quickly got used to it and was fine. My two children and I, along with two other adults, occupied one row of three seats. We then picked up another pair of travelers and departed. After everyone was present, the guide introduced themselves and gave an overview of the itinerary. I dozed off until we reached Maeklong Railway. Upon arrival, the guide explained where the restrooms were, the train's arrival time, and the meeting point, after which we had free time. Since Maeklong Market is a fish market, my children disliked the fishy smell. After a short stroll, we waited for the train at a cafe along the tracks, enjoying the cool air. I had imagined that the awnings and stalls along the tracks would be cleared at the last minute before the train passed, but everyone started clearing them away quite a bit in advance. After regrouping, we headed to Wat Bang Kung temple. Along the way, the guide explained that we would cross the Maeklong River many times and pointed out roadside stalls selling coconuts and other goods. At the temple, the guide provided very detailed explanations and even bought and distributed gold leaf offerings for us to place on the Buddha statues. The guide explained everything with great enthusiasm, but my English proficiency was low, so I honestly didn't understand much. Next, we proceeded to Amphawa Floating Market. We were informed that the chances of seeing fireflies that day were low, and we were given the option to either wait for the fireflies or visit another temple. At the firefly ticket booth in Amphawa Floating Market, both my family and another group chose to wait for the fireflies, agreeing to regroup at 6:30 PM. During the hour and a half before that, we explored Amphawa Floating Market and had dinner. There are many open-air restaurants, so any would be fine, but the one we chose was a mistake. That particular restaurant had many flies, and the juice we ordered (likely delivered from another establishment) never arrived. It was still bright at 6:30 PM when we boarded the boat for firefly viewing. The boat left the market and went onto the river, showing us the shops and villas along the riverbanks before heading to the desired area with dense trees. Countless tiny fireflies, more than I imagined, clung to the trees like a Christmas tree. Occasionally, they would fly to the boat and land on our hands. Although it was dark enough to see the fireflies for only about 15 minutes out of the one-hour boat ride, it was a very memorable sight.
The itinerary was very good. I would have liked a little more time at the railway market and a little less time at Amphawa, but overall it was a great experience and the tour made it very easy. There was a good mix of guided tour and self-visit at each location. The guide was the only small letdown as he was not particularly engaging. He did offer to take nice photos though and did that well.
Highly recommended! Niranya and our assigned driver are very accommodating and welcoming, very friendly. Worth the while. We should've booked earlier so we met our tripmates early on. Cheaper than other options checked. Must book! Thank you very much! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great experience! You can choose this package if you are in a small-scale group like us - 3 persons. Our tour guide - Nina, is superb! She is nice and friendly. She shares a lot of local cultural activities with us, especially at the temple site. We also have a chance to watch the fireflies swarming in the trees when having a boat trip at the Amphawa floating market. This package is worth a try!
The trip is really worth it. Start from 11am - 9pm Firefly watching Boat ride was 2hr 😍 Hope we have more time at Rail Market than Amphawa Market (3hr there is too much) Our guide is very fun and lovely. We wasn’t bored at all despite the long tour.
Niranya was our tour guide. She was very helpful and friendly. There was a lot to see, especially the train market. The train really passes incredibly close to you. The fireflies tour and temple tour were also good.
Jacky is great and took good care of me during this trip. He gave detailed explanations about Thai history. He also gave good food recommendations. Overall, it's a great tour and I strongly recommend doing it.
