Tour de Meio Dia em Mumbai - Dharavi, Dhobighat e Dabbawallas

Dinesh is a very good guide , English speaking well and willing to reply every question we ask, this tour is well organized and so many to see too, every part of what we join are so funny , and how Mumbai run business is so amazing

The day before departure, they proactively contacted me via WhatsApp to remind me to be on time. On the day of the activity, there were 5 tourists including myself. As it was the rainy season, it poured in the morning when we gathered. However, since we traveled entirely by train, it didn't affect the itinerary. The rain lessened after we arrived at the laundry facility. After meeting at Churchgate Station, our guide, Alam, took us in order to: (1) Mahalaxmi Station to see the Dhobi Ghat open-air laundry, (2) Dharavi slum at Mahim Station, and finally (3) back to Churchgate Station to see the Dabbawalas lunchbox deliverymen. The train arrangements were very clever, skillfully avoiding peak morning rush hour. The entire activity was very relaxed, and the explanations were insightful. It was an excellent way to quickly experience a facet of Mumbai life in half a day.

Dinesh was a great guide and the tour was super interesting. We went on Sunday so seeing the lunch boxes were not an option but we saw the flower market, slums and the laundry which were really interesting. We also got to ride a train with open doors which my young son enjoyed. The tour got moved to start at 11am which was great as the 8am would have been a challenge. On Sunday things were quiet which was nice especially as we had a 4 year old with us.

Nous avons choisi l'option avec transfert. Un chauffeur est venu nous chercher à notre hôtel, puis nous a déposés au Regal Cinema où notre guide, Dawood, nous a accueillis. Il nous a emmenés à India Gateway, puis nous avons pris le bus jusqu'à la gare avant de prendre le train pour Dharavi. Dawood nous a fait visiter la région et nous a montré les entreprises à l'intérieur et comment les gens y vivaient. Ensuite, nous avons pris le train pour Dhobi Ghaut, où nous avons été guidés par quelqu'un qui travaillait réellement comme Dobi à l'intérieur. On nous a dit qu'à moins de faire une visite guidée, nous n'aurions pas pu entrer - nous sommes donc ravis de l'avoir fait. Ensuite, nous avons repris le train jusqu'à notre point de départ où nous avons pu observer les Dabbawallas en action. Dans l'ensemble, ce fut une expérience incroyable et Dawood était très compétent et éloquent.

Heute haben wir die Mumbai Unplugged Tour und auch die Slum City Tour gemacht. Alam war unser Reiseleiter. Alam war sehr freundlich, sehr fürsorglich, sehr geduldig und extrem sachkundig. Alam traf uns pünktlich, zeigte uns das Gateway of India, den Blumenmarkt, den Wäschebereich sowie die Essenslieferung. Danach ging es weiter in die Slum City. Wir reisten mit Bus und Bahn. Die Tour war sehr gut organisiert und wir haben an einem Tag so viel von Mumbai gesehen, was wir normalerweise alleine nicht sehen würden. Wir haben unsere Tour sehr genossen und hatten einen fantastischen Tag, dank Alam. Wir würden jedem, der Mumbai besucht, diese Touren auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Sehr guter Einblick in das Leben in Mumbai und ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wir hielten zum Mittagessen in einem lokalen Restaurant und probierten eine Vielzahl lokaler Speisen, die köstlich waren. Vielen Dank, Alam, und alles Gute für die Zukunft... If you're going to Mumbai, this is a must-do. You can learn about Mumbai's history through Dharavi, Dhobi Ghat, and Dabbawalas. Please participate with respect, as you'll be experiencing the lives of the local people. Travel is by train, which is also an interesting experience. The guide will explain everything in detail.

A fantastic daily experience in Mumbai, India! Our group of 12 tourists had a very detailed explanation from the guide, who shared many unique cultural aspects of Mumbaikars, and we also took a train ride. The itinerary and pace were perfectly arranged, highly recommended.
