It was a nice trip. It took one hour to get to the island and Hamid made nice conversation about Mumbai and Elephanta Caves and at the end of our trip also told us about Gateway of India. Upon arrival on the island, we were met by another guide who took us around the caves and told us their history.
The guide was very kind and talkative. I started feeling seasick partway through and wasn't well, but they responded gently. If you know where the boat dock is, it's possible to buy a ticket and go on your own. The boat rocks, so motion sickness medication is essential. The sun is also strong.
Thanks Hamid for organising and arranging for the tour. Had an adventure in the Mumbai city - it is a truly amazing and unique experience. Thanks again to Hamid for the day.

The communication leading up to the trip was very poor, we didn’t get clear information until the last minute. Our first guide also spent a lot of time pushing a 'fast ferry' upgrade for US$25 per person, which felt more like a sales pitch than a tour. However, once we reached the island, things improved. There is so much to see, and the local island guides were incredibly patient and friendly. Great destination, but the initial organization needs work.
Although the time was short, it was a fulfilling trip. Mr. Hamid was especially helpful with meeting times, after the tour, and particularly with transportation, such as arranging a ride back to the hotel. He was a great help with the trip and getting to destinations.
Our guide, DK, was very kind. We could have spent hours on Elephanta Island. Thank you very much.
I was worried, but the trip went smoothly. It was a bit tiring to take the ferry for an hour, but I think it's a place definitely worth visiting.
