Parque Florestal Nacional de Kenting, Pingtung: Ingressos, ingressos combinados e Parque Eluanbi

Kenting Forest is a superb activity. You can do the full tour in 2.5-3 hours. You can see ravines, coral rocks, Formosan macaques, caves, and a lush forest. Accessible from Kenting Arch by bus 720 for 20 TWD.

Beautiful views and scenery. It was roughly two hours to do the longer hike. The caves were neat to walk through. Parking is affordable and staff is available to guide if needed. The paths are well labeled. I recommend visiting Kenting National Forest.

Holiday adult tickets are 150. Buying from KLOOK saves 50. There's no difference for weekday entry, you just earn points. Children under 12 get free entry to Eluanbi. For the National Park, it's 75, and children can just buy tickets on-site. Eluanbi is very hot, and it's just for taking pictures of the lighthouse. Coming here is mainly to impress elementary school students with a landmark from their social studies textbooks. The National Park is recommended for elementary school students in upper grades and above. The trail takes about three to four hours round trip, and the stalactite caves are spectacular. Most of the trail past the visitor center is shaded. The children were initially complaining about the heat, but they were amazed by the Immortal Cave, and then completed all the points including the Silver Dragon Cave, Yixiantian (One-Line Sky), and the Banyan Valley. The view from the top floor of the Ocean View Tower is also excellent. It was a worthwhile trip.

Kenting National Forest Recreation Area: Tickets purchased on-site are NT$150 on holidays. Buying on Klook saves NT$50, which is a great deal. You can take bus 8248 from the Kenting Archway to get there, but the bus frequency is very low, so you need to check the schedule in advance. Otherwise, you won't be able to get down the mountain. We ended up walking down the mountain, which took us an hour and ten minutes to reach the Kenting Archway. It takes about 2-2.5 hours to complete the entire trail. The path is easy to walk. Families with strollers cannot complete the entire trail and can only walk on the paved routes. The mountain and sea scenery is beautiful, and passing through various caves is very special. The biological resources are rich; we saw two Formosan macaques climbing a net. It is recommended to wear long pants as there are many mosquitoes. Eluanbi Lighthouse: On-site tickets are also NT$60, but purchasing through Klook makes entry convenient and fast. After taking photos of the lighthouse, you can walk to the sea-viewing platform and the forest trail to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

The park is home to numerous Bischofia javanica trees, banyan trees, and various wildlife. Its unique geological features include coral reefs uplifted by plate tectonics and limestone formations. The Immortal Cave, Weeping Fig Valley, and Silver Dragon Cave are all well worth a visit, though some areas might be challenging for those with mobility issues. Within the park, you can visit the free observation deck at the top of the Ocean View Tower or dine at the scenic restaurant. Visiting on a weekday means fewer crowds, allowing you to immerse yourself more deeply in nature as you walk through the forest, enjoying the sea breeze and the sounds of insects and birds. It's recommended to set aside at least 2-3 hours for your visit.

Very convenient! Tickets can be bought and used immediately! The staff at the national park were all very kind! They even gave me a coaster, a small but happy surprise ❤️ The weather was excellent when I visited Kenting National Park that day, making me feel refreshed and relaxed. But remember to spray sunscreen and mosquito repellent to prevent sunburn or insect bites! It's normal to find many insects in nature. Also, wear comfortable and convenient clothing, and avoid using perfume or strong fragrances, as they might attract insects! The Ocean View Tower is great; if you don't want to take the stairs, you can take the elevator up. The view is unobstructed, and walking around once feels quite nice, but the rooftop is extremely sunny 🤣 after one round, I just wanted more shade.

El parque está algo aislado del pueblo, no se puede ir andando y no hay transporte público; asegúrate de conseguir una bicicleta o un patinete antes. Purchasing e-tickets in advance makes park entry convenient. Those entering Kenting National Park with a half-price ticket will need to show identification (student ID). Entering the park at 9:00 AM on a weekday, there are almost no tourists, and the air is exceptionally fresh. Seeing Formosan macaques by the old silver-leaf banyan tree is truly exciting! It takes approximately 3-3.5 hours to walk through the entire park (including breaks), covering both the front and back sections. It's a great place for a hike to absorb plenty of phytoncides.
