This was an add-on tour, and once the date was selected, tickets could not be refunded, so special attention should be paid when arranging the itinerary. The aquarium is on the second floor of the mall, so parking is convenient. It is recommended to arrive early to avoid crowds. You can experience the biting fish (which costs money at Okinawa World), touch starfish, sea anemones, and small sharks (but not pick them up); you can also see penguins, sloths, crocodiles, toucans, meerkats, and other animals up close. Experience activities include feeding shows (very limited spots, need to queue early, with morning and afternoon sessions) and walking on the underwater glass floor to look down at marine life soaring. If you don't have time to visit Churaumi Aquarium, coming here is also a good experience. It is recommended to purchase tickets online in advance; you can directly enter by opening the QR Code at the entrance, which is super convenient.
I went on the evening of October 4th! As many reviews mentioned, for this price, Churaumi Aquarium might be better... If you have a full day, Churaumi Aquarium is the way to go. If you want to experience the atmosphere within a limited time, Kariyushi Aquarium might be better. Perhaps because of the time I went, it felt like a private viewing, and unlike a regular aquarium, it was mystical and personally, I really enjoyed it. I really wanted to see the otters, but they were surprisingly 'looking for a partner' and away (lol). I'd love to go again if otter babies are born! ♪(๑ᴖ◡ᴖ๑)♪
I bought the tickets when I arrived at the mall where the DMM aquarium is located. I got an instant confirmation with a QR code for each person and you don't have to exchange for the actual tickets at all. Simply scan the QR code at the entrance, save time and money!
DMM Kariyushi Aquarium: A Refreshing, Absolutely Worth-It New Experience Our first stop in Okinawa was iias Okinawa Toyosaki shopping mall, and since this aquarium is conveniently located next to it, we decided to buy tickets for a quick visit. Unexpectedly, this small aquarium offered a wonderfully grand experience. All three exhibition zones have distinct characteristics. First, there's the welcome video, which combines the latest imaging technology with original Okinawan music, fully showcasing the charm of Okinawa and truly opening your eyes! In the Evergreen Forest, besides toucans, white owls, alligator snapping turtles, there are also sloths and armadillos. You can experience the leisurely and natural ecology of animals in a subtropical forest up close. In the Clear Sea, you can view the beautiful underwater world of Okinawa with colorful, shimmering light effects. Among these, the cylindrical jellyfish exhibit is particularly breathtaking.
The park isn't very big, but we spent a lot of time walking around inside. It costs 500 yen to feed the sloths once, and there are specific feeding times, so you need to buy tickets. It was so exciting to see the sloths up close! There are also other animals inside, like pangolins and anteaters, which aren't fully enclosed, allowing for close-up views. If you like taking photos, there's an aquarium area where you can snap some pictures – it's definitely worth a visit. After the aquarium, you can also walk over to iias, which is the same shopping mall. Parking is also there and it's free! It's perfect to go straight there after picking up your car from the airport.
Bersih, modern, staf layanan sangat baik. Ada parkir gratis. Di sebelah department store dengan banyak barang untuk dibeli. Sangat cocok untuk membawa anak-anak. Jarak berjalan kaki ke pantai.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting the DDM Aquarium, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I stepped through the entrance, I was captivated by its magnificent design and abundant marine life. Every exhibition area here is meticulously arranged, full of educational significance and entertainment. Firstly, the central main tank in the aquarium is absolutely stunning. The enormous tank is home to a wide variety of marine creatures, from colorful tropical fish to graceful sharks, offering a feast for the eyes. Especially when you walk through the transparent underwater tunnel, it feels as if you are immersed in the ocean world, with fish swimming all around you. This immersive experience is truly captivating. The aquarium is not just a place to display marine life; it also features many interactive exhibits that allow people to gain a deeper understanding of marine ecosystems and the importance of conservation. I particularly enjoyed their sea turtle rehabilitation program exhibit, which, through vivid videos and detailed explanations, taught us how to protect these beautiful creatures. The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to answer your questions and provide a lot of interesting information. The children's area, in particular, offers many educational and entertaining activities, allowing children to learn about marine knowledge while playing. Overall, DDM Aquarium is a place that integrates education, entertainment, and aesthetic beauty, where both adults and children can find joy. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to learn about the ocean world; it is indeed a magical journey not to be missed.
Experience: The e-ticket is very convenient; you can just scan it to enter. Unfortunately, popular pet feeding tickets were sold out by 9:30 AM, even though the park opens at 9:00 AM. So, if you want to feed the animals, it's safer to arrive before opening. Facilities: The environment is clean and the space is quite good, but some pet areas inside are a bit stuffy. This might be configured to meet the pets' needs, which is understandable.
A very convenient and fast experience; you just scan the code to pass through quickly. However, the only downside is that the staff clearly stated that if you wanted to re-enter on the same day, you could get an invisible stamp on your hand. But when I actually tried to re-enter, they first used a light to check for the stamp on my hand, confirming it was there, yet they still asked to see the QR code on my ticket again. It was truly annoying. I really don't understand the purpose of the stamp then. Sigh...
A very comfortable aquarium, not too crowded, allowing for leisurely viewing. There are also many opportunities for close-up encounters/observations of animals and marine life. The LED screen showing whale sharks is incredibly realistic, and you can sit down to watch. Additionally, there's a unique pearl-opening experience at the exit, definitely worth trying! The aquarium is connected to a large shopping mall, so you can continue shopping afterwards, easily spending half a day there!
