A super tour, with a good mix of culture and street food/market. Austen was a great guide who speaks excellent English, competently led us, and helped us with our shopping. This way, we got a fantastic introduction to Kyoto that we never would have managed on our own with just "onboard resources."

Kenta was an insightful and knowledgeable tour guide. He designed the itinerary around our Kyoto ‘must sees’ and provided advice on what are really the key things to do. He also took us to a great restaurant which we would never have found on our own plus made sure we were able to do the things that we really wanted to do like also buy a set of great Japanese knives.

We did so much and learned a lot about Kyoto's history and its principal temples! We highly recommend it if you want to do a lot in 8 hours!

We had an amazing time with our guide Alvin. The itinerary he came up with was perfectly timed, and he had so much knowledge about the history and lore/legends. He talked anime and video games with my husband, which was nice. It really felt like we were being shown around by a friend. Also, I am sure he could have walked circles around us but he was very intuitive when it came to setting the pace. I never felt like he was walking too fast or had issues keeping up, and I am not what anyone would call athletic. Also, he took GREAT photos of us.

Austen was a fantastic guide and we highly recommend this tour. The itinerary was made up to our wishes, we had a wonderful day and Austen's knowledge was fantastic!

We had a great experience on the Must See Kyoto private tour, thanks to our guide, Austen. From the start, communication with him was seamless—his English is perfect, making everything so easy and enjoyable. Austen guided us through some of the most iconic spots, including Nara Park, where we got up close with the deer, Nishiki Market with its vibrant food scene, and the historic district of Gion, famous for its geisha culture. Along the way, he shared fascinating insights and answered all our questions with enthusiasm. Beyond the tour stops, Austen went above and beyond, offering detailed recommendations and tips for other places we were planning to visit in Kyoto and beyond. His knowledge and approachable demeanor made the experience really great. If you’re looking for a guide who is personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making your trip unforgettable, we can’t recommend Austen highly enough!

Kiyoto is an amazing and knowledgeable guide. He would answer our questions, and if he didn’t know the answer, he would find out in a matter of minutes. He took great pictures and taught us some Japanese phrases. I would recommend this tour as it is designed to your interests and your pace.
