Amazing experience! Enjoyed the hiking. Beautiful nature. We had sunny weather and a breeze - perfect day. Hiking shoes were great to have - some parts still have snow. The cable car gave a great view of the surroundings. The monastery was beautiful and the bread from the bakery was tasty.

The day before departure, we received notifications from the travel agency via email and WhatsApp, clearly stating the meeting time and location. They also provided a complete audio guide link. Upon arrival at the destination, an English guide was also provided to introduce the features and history of the monastery. Unfortunately, the cable car up the mountain was broken on that day, so we couldn't take it. However, the tour guide still made great efforts to arrange a jeep for transportation. Although we still had to walk a section of the road and walked down the mountain ourselves, there was a great sense of accomplishment upon completion. Throughout the process, the tour guide tried their best to check on the status of the group members and demonstrated sufficient crisis management abilities.

The local travel agency partnered with Klook is excellent. Before departure, they email photos of the bus, driver and guide information, and the precise Google Maps location of the meeting point. Visiting both the Seven Rila Lakes (most tourists complete five lakes) and Rila Monastery in one day, without worrying about transportation, is fantastic. The guide is professional and responsible, providing ample information, making it highly recommended. Also, a reminder that the round-trip cable car for the Seven Rila Lakes is essential for the itinerary, but the fee (30 leva round-trip) will be collected by the guide on-site and must be paid in local currency. If you book this tour, remember to prepare the local currency in advance.

Rila mountains look amazing at the top of the hike. We didn't climb to the top of the mountain and saw 5 out of the 7 lakes as it was not a full day hike. It was taxing for a city girl like me and the initial climb plus the walk down was a bit slippery with the loose rocks. However, our tour guides were amazing and no one was left behind. The view was definitely worth it and it's advisable to go with a guide. We had many photo op and the guides were patient with the whole group. This is highly recommended for a first timer hiking up Rila mountains.

Seven Rila Lakes: There were two guides, one leading and one following, which was a very thoughtful arrangement. Remember to wear a thick jacket for warmth due to the high altitude. Rila Monastery: The guide will lead everyone and introduce the history of the monastery, which is very worthwhile and much more interesting than just looking around by yourself. Highly recommended.

The trip was nicely organized.

Our guide, Yori, was very professional, providing us with a detailed history of Rila Monastery and allowing us time to explore on our own. He was also excellent at leading a group with varying fitness levels on the hike to the Seven Rila Lakes, even though we could only visit five due to different physical conditions and time constraints. The tour was well worth the money.

The tour guide was very experienced and helpful. Even though the lift to the Seven Lakes was broken in the morning, he calmly handled the situation. Thanks to him, we were able to see a wonderful view. The schedule change was made quickly, and after visiting the Rila Monastery, we returned to Sofia as planned. This is a recommended tour.

On the morning of the tour, the bus was changed, and although I wandered around the meeting point looking for the bus, I was able to board the assigned bus without any problems. There was still snow in the 7 Lakes area, and sneakers would be slippery, so I recommend trekking shoes. The scenery was absolutely magnificent. It was a shame that the lakes were still frozen, and I couldn't see the beautiful water color up close, but I enjoyed the snowy landscape. There were many purple flowers blooming, which was beautiful. The views of the surrounding mountains were also wonderful. At Rila Monastery, I was able to take my time and see what I wanted during the free viewing. I also got to eat bread from the bakery. I recommend having small change ready, as 1 Lv is needed for the restroom.
