This was back in July 2023. Dameon Sadeuk's Floating Market and Mae Khlong Train Tour offer an enjoyable taste of Thai culture. The Floating Market bustles with vibrant energy, while the Mae Khlong Train ride adds an exciting twist. With comfortable transportation provided, it's a hassle-free way to explore and savor the essence of Thailand.

We received a free upgrade due to insufficient numbers, which added a visit to the elephant sanctuary. However, this required an earlier meeting time of 8:30 AM, one hour sooner than planned. The vehicle was very punctual, and we arrived at the parking lot near Maeklong Railway Market before 10 AM. Our tour leader thoughtfully bought us water and reminded us to use the free restrooms at the parking lot, as using the restrooms at Maeklong and the floating market costs five Thai Baht. We were able to watch the trains arrive and depart at 11:10 AM and 11:30 AM. We then took a boat at 12 PM, had lunch at 1 PM, and departed at 2 PM for the nearby elephant sanctuary, staying until 3 PM. Riding an elephant costs an additional 700 Thai Baht, and a bucket of bananas to feed the elephants costs 100 Thai Baht. Finally, the return vehicle could drop us off at Central World or ICONSIAM, arriving back in the city center by 5 PM. It was a perfect itinerary.

The meeting location is easy to find. There were a total of 10 people in a van. As everyone arrived early, we departed a bit earlier than scheduled, which was fine. The planned itinerary was to the floating market first, but we actually went to the Railway Market first, so I was a bit confused when we got off the van. Generally, we are happy with the arrangement.

Our visit to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and Maeklong Railway Market was an incredible experience! Navigating through the bustling waterways of Damnoen Saduak, surrounded by colorful boats selling fresh produce and local goods, was like stepping into a vibrant postcard!

The floating market and railway market offer a truly unique experience. The boat circled back to the shore, and Captain No. 19 continuously provided commentary along the way, even treating us to bananas and introducing us to lemongrass. The driver then took the tour group back to the river for an optional self-paid lunch. Mango sticky rice was 60 baht, and fried noodles and fried rice were very cheap. Eating on the steps by the riverbank was a very atmospheric experience. The railway market was well-timed, so we didn't have to wait too long, and the train passing right by us was a unique experience.

First, always book through Klook! You will get scammed throughout the areas if you do not have a tour guide. Our tour guide was excellent and the driver was very safe! Our guide had booked everything in advance for us to enjoy throughout the day. We were 2 adults and an 11-month-old. We enjoyed the Maeklong Market, rode the train, and went to the floating market where we got to try the coconut ice cream and coconut juice on the boat, very tasty! Boat fee was paid. Foreigner prices are crazy if you go alone and can’t communicate. Always bargain at the market! We ended the day at The Sky Cafe. Getting around was easy with the help of our guide. Highly recommend for a day trip.

The tour guide is friendly. The floating market boat ride is fun and an eye-opener for first-timers. The railway station is another eye-opener when the train passes by; we were so close to it, a bit scary though, haha. The food at the railway station is cheaper than at the floating market. The coconut ice cream is cheap and good. However, the van is not very comfortable, perhaps not suitable for fussy or large-sized passengers.

My original tour was without a tour guide but couldn't start due to insufficient sign-ups. I received a free upgrade to join a tour with a tour guide and an elephant camp. Our tour guide, Roger, was very nice and gave brief instructions and tips on bargaining, etc. I definitely recommend this tour when you are in BKK!

The driver is friendly and helpful. He can speak basic English, which is enough to understand what to do on the tour. The timing is exact. The longboat tour around the night market is awesome, although touristy.
