We came to this workshop with our family not knowing what to expect, and it ended up being one of the most delightful experiences of our trip. We painted and decorated our own Lionhead papier-mâché masks while learning about the history of the Lionhead tradition and how it came to Vietnam. The artists shared so much knowledge and context, which made the experience feel meaningful, not just creative. What really stood out was their generosity and heart. They were patient, encouraging, and clearly passionate about sharing their craft. They made everyone feel welcome and capable, whether you were artistic or just there to have fun. And you leave with the cutest memorabilia — your own handmade Lionhead to take home. If you’re anywhere nearby, don’t miss this beautiful, creative experience.

What a great workshop! My brother asked me to bring him a "lionhead" from a lion dancer character in a computer game he plays. When I saw this, I really liked the idea of making a lion head to take home instead of trying to find one that looked similar. At the beginning of the workshop, there's a short introduction to lion dancing and the artisan who is teaching the workshop. I had a great time making it, and they helped me customize it to fit the inspiration picture. My booking was rather last minute, but they were able to accommodate me. Would recommend!

We were able to use the 3rd floor of the cafe to learn about the culture and history of shishigashira (lion dance masks) and festivals through slides, and then directly participate in a shishigashira painting workshop led by a craftsman! You can essentially paint freely, but various templates and examples are provided, and they offer careful support, so you can create your piece without any worries. We also got to watch the craftsman skillfully finish the work right in front of us, which felt like witnessing the magic of craftsmanship. The cafe's drinks were also very delicious, and everyone was very friendly and kind, so we were able to relax and enjoy the workshop! The shishigashira you make can be wrapped and taken home on the spot, making it a wonderful travel memory. They send many photos of the production process and commemorative pictures after the workshop, so even those participating alone will have a fulfilling experience! Your own little piece of art is sure to become a talking point!

The workshop was very relaxing. I learned a lot about the history of the dragon and was then able to get creative myself. I was looked after by a great team who were always there to help me. In the end, of course, I was allowed to take my finished dragon head home and even received a small gift. A great activity for anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city for a few hours.

I loved the workshop! it’s just perfect for people who love art + want to bring home a traditional piece of Vietnamese history and culture with them. I am sure it would be interesting for both families and friends/couples.
