If you're planning a day trip to Macau, I highly recommend this Macau guided tour with Guide Lee Chi-young!!! Especially, the museum visit course included was a stroke of genius... So, you can explore Macau much more enjoyably than just looking around!!! The tour schedule is also efficient! It starts in the morning and finishes around lunchtime, and by the time the tour ends, the waiting times at restaurants are shorter, making it perfect for a leisurely lunch...!? And the second reason I really want to recommend it is that it's not just about listening to tour course explanations and being done...!!! Guide Lee Chi-young meticulously tells you about real local restaurants, good souvenir shops, efficient ways to get to Taipa Island, and even hotel tour courses..!! And it was comfortable because the guide was Korean! From the moment I was introduced to Guide Lee Chi-young, I received tour explanations and communicated in Korean... Above all, he knows Korean tastes so well, so the reliability of restaurant recommendations is also up👍 Even after the tour, he shared a lot of information to help me travel Macau fruitfully... I took a day trip from my Hong Kong vacation to visit Macau. It was my second time in Hong Kong but my first in Macau, so I booked a guided tour to avoid getting lost. It was my first time taking a guided tour during my many overseas trips, and in conclusion, it was a very satisfying experience. I'm grateful for the hard work of Guide Lee Chi-young, who led over 10 people for three hours. I was touched by his efforts to share even more information. Although I was a bit tired on the third day of my trip, he provided rest stops along the way, which helped me get through it. He also took beautiful photos at key spots and recommended great restaurants, which I enjoyed after the tour. I was very thankful that even after the tour, he personally helped me plan and informed me about my afternoon itinerary. If my middle school daughter had more stamina, we would have followed the guide's suggested course... but we just did some quick sightseeing and returned to Hong Kong. Next time, I'd like to visit Macau separately and take a night tour with Guide Lee Chi-young.

If you're planning a day trip or an overnight stay in Macau, we highly recommend including this tour in your itinerary, rather than just a hotel tour or exploring on your own, as it allows you to delve into Macau's history. Learning about Macau's history one step at a time through Mr. Gwangbok's detailed explanations was incredibly engaging for the children. Thanks to his passionate explanations, especially at the museum, my child even developed a greater interest in the history of Europe's expansion into Asia after returning to Korea! It was wonderful to clearly understand the differences between Hong Kong and Macau.

Macau 10,000-Step Morning Walking Tour Diary This was my first visit to Hong Kong since COVID-19... On previous trips, I'd stayed in Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok, but for some reason, this time I booked accommodation on Hong Kong Island. As a result, the ferry terminal to Macau was right on my doorstep, which led me to look into Macau tours. (Important here) If you're departing from Hong Kong and meeting at the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, it's best to use TurboJET rather than Cotai Water Jet if possible. It's also recommended to take a ferry that departs at least 1 hour and 30 minutes beforehand. Anyway, I arrived at the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal and, referring to the meeting point photo sent by the guide, made it to the 1st-floor information center! Thanks to my morning diligence to avoid being late, I was relieved not to inconvenience my fellow tour participants. The tour began with a move to the bus stop... Starting with the guide's self-introduction, the tour proceeded through Dutch Street to St. Lazarus Church, a Macau Museum tour, Monte Fort, the Ruins of St. Paul's (which burned down three times), and even jerky and various cookie tastings on Jerky Street... Afterward, we explored various alleys until disbanding at Senado Square... This tour, covering almost 10,000 steps, provided an excellent field learning experience through the guide's comprehensive explanation of world history, covering how European powers destabilized China and how Hong Kong and Macau came to be colonized. In other words, I strongly felt that a tour where you hear contexts you wouldn't discover on your own is more enjoyable and meaningful. If it's your first time in Macau, I highly recommend booking a guided tour. Especially for Kwangbok's dad, haha. The photo below shows road repair work on the way to St. Lazarus Church. It's a traditional Portuguese paving style called "Calçada Portuguesa," where small natural stones like limestone or basalt are individually hand-cut, shaped, and embedded into the ground in a mosaic pattern. It's said that this isn't just about laying stones, but about creating intricate patterns like waves, flowers, stars, and marine life, as shown in the second photo.

I was so satisfied with Guide Lee Chi-young! He contacted me before we met to help with directions and checked everything in advance before I arrived. It was a great help as I was struggling to figure everything out on my own while traveling with my mother. I was also touched by how well the photos he took turned out. The restaurant he recommended after the tour was a huge success, and he even told me how to get back to the hotel, which was incredibly helpful. The tour itself was, of course, amazing! This was our second trip to Macau with our child ^^. My child wanted a Macau history tour, so we signed up for one. We had only planned a hotel stay, but after the history tour, our trip became two or three times more enjoyable. Guide Lee Ji-won explained everything so clearly and entertainingly that we made wonderful memories even at the museum.
