Departing Nagoya at 10 AM, we arrived at Lake Suwa at 3 PM, stopping at three rest areas along the way. There were many people, and the tour guide suggested eating/buying lunch there, as food could be consumed on the bus. Upon arrival at the fireworks festival, he provided access to the "Shoren" area, where we had to find our own spots. Each person was given a cushion, so there was no need to bring our own. The view was good, with no smoke, and the fireworks were very clear. Behind us were food stalls, making it convenient to buy food and drinks. It was very windy and extremely sunny that day, and it got very cold at night with the wind, so I recommend bringing a light jacket. Additionally, there were countless ants on the grass; if you're afraid of insects, I suggest bringing a small stool (the key is not to block anyone's view). Leaving was absolute hell; not only were there huge crowds, but there were also long queues for the restrooms. Furthermore, due to Japanese law requiring drivers to have sufficient rest, we stopped at a rest area for 3 hours around 1 AM, and the bus didn't restart for Nagoya until 4 AM, finally dropping us off at 4:30 AM. Be prepared for a long bus ride with no room to stretch your legs and very hard seats. It was also very difficult to find a taxi/Uber, though if you did find one, the tour guide would let you go, of course. Overall, it was acceptable. If you can't book a hotel last minute or want to do a round trip in one day, you might consider it.
