K-Drama em Suwon Hwaseong: Excursão de um dia saindo de Seul

The car for this trip was very punctual. The driver, an older gentleman, messaged us via Kakao, sending a picture of the car and telling us where to meet and at what time. It was excellent! We woke up early, ready to go (it was very cold, rainy, and windy, but we went anyway). When the driver arrived, he invited us to sit and said, "Good morning! Where are you all from?" We replied, "Thailand," and he joked, "Thailand, and then Taipei. Today, I'll be picking up two more people from Taipei." After that, we departed from Hongdae to Myeongdong. Once everyone was picked up, we headed straight to Suwon as planned. Our first stop was the Starfield Library. I don't know how the driver managed, but I fell asleep as soon as the car started, which means he must have been driving well. We arrived before the mall opened. While waiting for it to open, the driver told us, "It's on the 4th floor, go right up." And the next stop was "Whole Chicken Street" (I was so confused, blaming the app for a bad translation). We went to eat fried chicken! We ordered two plates: one regular fried and one with Korean sauce. It was only then that I realized "whole chicken" literally meant a whole chicken! It was one chicken, but prepared in two styles. We ate, a bit confused, but there was so much that we had to take some home. The next place was a palace; I can't remember its name. The restrooms were amazing; they let us into the palace just to use the restroom. It was cold, but we went into the palace for a bit, paying an entrance fee (I don't remember how much). We ended the trip at Seonjae, which was easy to find as the driver gave us directions. The driver was excellent, acting as both driver and guide, making this trip truly impressive. And that's the end of it!

We were very lucky that only two of us signed up that day, so it became a private tour, which was fantastic. The local travel agency was also very thoughtful, arranging guides according to the traveler's nationality/language. When we arrived at the meeting point, we found our guide was a beautiful lady. Her first words were in familiar Chinese, which was great. After chatting, we discovered she was a fellow Taiwanese! Since we were the only guests, she customized the itinerary for us. In addition to the original planned attractions, she helped us find and take photos at the drama filming locations we wanted to visit. We don't understand Korean at all, and the guide helped us communicate and translate throughout the entire trip, greatly reducing the burden of the language barrier. Many thanks to our guide, Tina, for this trip! She is beautiful, kind, and super friendly. I highly recommend this experience to Taiwanese people who like Suwon or want to visit the filming locations of the "Lovely Runner" drama!

Although Suwon is not far from Seoul, it still takes quite a long time to get there by subway. It's great that you can take the train in the morning and not be too tired! Basically, several classic attractions in Suwon (Starfield Library, Paldalmun Market, Hwaseong Fortress) are included in the itinerary. Because the schedule is very chill, it won't be too rushed. You can also use your free time to go to attractions you want to visit or eat what you want (e.g., Haenggung-dong, select shops, cafes, K-drama filming locations, etc.). When you're tired from exploring, you can take the train back to Seoul. This is recommended for those who want to take a short trip away from Seoul but don't want to be tied down!

We had originally booked a slightly different itinerary, but the tour changed and there were not enough participants on our original date. The organisers were very efficient and communicated the changes and our options clearly. We and another pair ended up with a private van and driver, who dropped us at all the pick-up points on the itinerary. The whole process was very easy. The itinerary and meeting point instructions were very clear. We even had a K-drama list sent to us on Google Maps so we could find the locations ourselves, which was so helpful. We had almond lattes in the cafe which they filmed Sol's house in Lovely Runner, and the small shop they also filmed at had some Lovely Runner merchandise as well. Starfield Library in Suwon is much better than the one in Gangnam, and we had plenty of time to shop in the department store as well. There was also a reenactment at the temporary palace near the fortress which was great. Very impressed with the tour organisers!

A day trip to Suwon is definitely worth it! The dedicated car service for pick-up and drop-off at fixed points is super convenient, saving a lot of time by not having to transfer yourself. The itinerary is rich and varied: in the morning, shopping and dining at Starfield were great; afterwards, we went to Paldalmun Market to experience the local atmosphere. In the afternoon, we visited Hwaseong Haenggung Palace and then relaxed at a cafe, which was very chill. The overall pace was comfortable, not rushed, making it a very satisfying trip. Highly recommended!

It was my first time visiting Suwon. The Starfield Library was great for photos, and a walk around Hwaseong Fortress was very pleasant. The Nammoon Tongdak at the market was quite tasty, and there's a martial arts performance at Hwaseong Fortress at 2 PM that's worth seeing! The strawberry cake at Notting Hill Cafe is also highly recommended.

The overall itinerary was very well-planned! There was ample time to leisurely visit and explore the Starfield Library, Hwaseong Fortress, and Korean drama filming locations. The meeting point can be chosen as Hongdae, and the dedicated shuttle service is also very convenient and comfortable. I recommend this to anyone who wants to take a relaxing trip to the Seoul suburbs and is interested in history and culture!

A day trip to Suwon is incredibly fulfilling! The Starfield Library is beautiful, and walking along the fortress walls of Hwaseong Fortress is truly therapeutic. Afterwards, head to Paldalmun Market to try local snacks, especially the must-try Nammun Chicken. You'll also spot many filming locations from Korean dramas, recognizing familiar scenes as you walk along. It's a highly recommended day trip.

Enjoy private round-trip transportation to fixed destinations. We visited Suwon's famous Starfield Library, experienced the Paldalmun Market and tried the recommended fried chicken, explored Hwaseong Haenggung Palace, and even saw the filming locations for the main characters' homes in "Lovely Runner." If you're in Seoul and don't know where else to go, Suwon, about an hour away, is an excellent choice.
