I had an absolutely incredible time on this tour, largely thanks to Rahman, who was a super friendly, patient, and helpful guide! He took the time to answer all of my questions and taught me so many fun facts about Tokyo's food culture, including the history behind the dishes and even how to pronounce them correctly. The food choices were incredibly varied and interesting! I pretty much got to taste everything I had on my Japan bucket list! Because I was the only one booked on the tour that day, Rahman gave me a personalized experience, taking me to explore a beautiful local shrine and the famous, historic small alleys of Golden Gai. Bottom line: I highly recommend booking with Rahman. He is incredibly fun and knowledgeable about both Tokyo and Japanese food. Bonus tip: try his favorite drink recommendation if he offers it; I took his advice and absolutely loved it!
My tour guide, Shota, was very nice and friendly. The food was great, and I got to visit many beautiful spots. He is very knowledgeable about local travel places. I highly recommend this tour if you want to experience the city like a local.
Amazing! Made my first dinner in Japan unforgettable! It was such a joyful night and a group of strangers from 3 continents feeling welcomed by Yuki our guide, such kind and lovely person. He gave us insides of culture and stories of the whole area. The time flew by - expect varieties of different, fresh delicious food and drinks, very good quality and surprises. Thank you so much! Another addition is that Yuki get sure that you are safe and to get you special fotos. He even made sure I took the right metro.
guide: Noa is very friendly and professional! food: All the food was delicious! drinks: I recommend the Imo-Shochu with hot water (for winter season).
We enjoyed the Food Tour and conversation with our Tour Guide Agaki Hajime who spoke perfect English. My wife enjoyed the conversation with him, it was good that only the 2 of us were booked for the Tour as we got lost. Hajime was kind enough to come locate us to start the Food Tour.
I am traveling with my 24 year old son. We usually are adventurous but this looked fun and didn’t disappoint. Our guide was fantastic, she spoke perfect English, knowledgeable and shared her love for Japan. However that wasn’t the best part. It was like going out on the town with an old friend it didn’t feel like a tour at all. The food and drinks were exceptional and I would highly recommend it!
Miiko was great. Such a sweetie. The tour was a good start to the trip. If you are used to basic Japanese food and have eaten common things (e.g., from NYC and have been to Japanese-style restaurants, it might not be worth it for you). But it was great to be led around and not have to think about what to eat and where to go!
This was the very first activity I did when me and my husband arrived in Japan, and I’m so glad I booked this tour. It was the perfect introduction to the country. Our guides, Akira and Haruki, were incredibly welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable. They were more than happy to answer all of our questions and made us feel comfortable right away. The food was excellent, and their explanations and recommendations made the experience even better. They also took us around Golden Gai and to a nearby shrine, sharing cultural insights and helpful tips along the way. It was a great way to get familiar with the area and understand more about the local atmosphere. I highly recommend this tour for your first day in Japan if you want to ease into your surroundings while enjoying amazing food and meaningful cultural context. Overall, we had a fantastic time—it felt more like going out to eat with friends than being on a guided tour.
Our guide, Sota, was amazing. He answered all of the group's questions about culture and how to be a good tourist. He even prepared common Japanese phrases that would be good to know and showed us many places to eat. Additionally, he went out of his way to walk us through Omoide Yokocho, even though it wasn't part of his original itinerary.
My husband and I had so much fun walking around Shinjuku chatting and trying lots of delicious food with Noa! All of the food was delicious. We really loved that Noa sent us a personalized list of recommendations and we ended up trying many of them during our week In Tokyo! Thank you so much Noa for starting our two weeks in Japan in such a great way! We highly recommend this food tour.
