I visited Sant Pau Hospital on May 1, 2026. I hesitated about going in, but since I was there, I made a same-day reservation and visited, which turned out to be an excellent decision. The exterior is beautifully and impressively adorned with colorful decorations, but the interior is also much larger than I imagined, and the ability to explore at a leisurely pace is a major draw. It's hard to believe it's a hospital, as the design is meticulously detailed, creating a space that feels more like an art museum. There were relatively few people, allowing for a calm viewing experience, and with many highlights, my satisfaction was high. Furthermore, there are many photo spots where you can see the Sagrada Familia, making photography enjoyable. It's a highly recommended tourist destination where you can enjoy both architecture and scenery.

Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona: A Visitor's Experience Hospital de Sant Pau is one of Barcelona's most iconic Catalan Modernist buildings, designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site, just like the Sagrada Familia. Originally built to care for the poor, this hospital has now been transformed into a cultural center and is open to the public. The architectural style is stunning, full of intricate details and Art Nouveau elements. The red brick buildings, adorned with colorful mosaics and stained glass, resemble a magnificent palace. The complex consists of multiple independent buildings, each with a unique design, featuring mosaic-decorated domes, sculpted arches, handmade tiles, and details everywhere you look. The combination of stained glass and natural light makes the interior spaces bright and dreamlike.
