Glad we took this trip on a weekend since we were able to visit Karato Market. We were able to try tried Fugu and the sushi choices are very fresh. I loved the Toro Sushi. We were also able to see the different buildings in Mojiko Retro. I was able to marvel on its architecture. This is our 5th visit in Japan but it's our first time visiting a Japanese castle. Kokura Castle is a very good castle first castle. It has interactive activities that will keep you immersed. I also liked our visit to Miyajidake Shrine. It is very peaceful and one with nature. I also would like to commend our tour guide. My mother and I were the only two non-Chinese speaking members of the group but the tour guide was very helpful with us.

This trip was with my family and one child, departing from Fukuoka. Our guide, Lina, was incredibly thoughtful, arranging our seats in the front row (because we had a child) and looking after every member of the group. Along the way, she diligently introduced attractions and shared insights about life in Japan 🇯🇵, helping everyone understand more deeply. We traveled from Mojiko (with its retro-designed buildings 🏘️), took a 5-minute boat ride to the bustling Karato Market (where we ate tempura 🍤 and sashimi), visited Kokura Castle (with its magnificent architecture, moat, and beautiful autumn foliage along the way), and Miyajidake Shrine ⛩️ (the seasonal 'Path of Light' was stunning). It was a very fulfilling itinerary, and my family was extremely satisfied. We would definitely join again if we have the chance next time – it was truly wonderful! 👏👏👏

The itinerary was well-planned and not rushed, allowing us to fully appreciate each stop. We were also very lucky to have "Xiao Te" as our guide and driver, who was incredibly kind. Although the weather wasn't great at first with some light rain, our guide meticulously adjusted the itinerary so we could take beautiful photos when the weather cleared up. We were a small group of four, but the guide was still very dedicated and thorough, introducing us to the classic history in great detail along the way, pointing out small details to pay attention to, and recommending local delicacies. This is definitely something you wouldn't get from a self-guided tour, and it enriched our trip immensely. Thank you very much!

Tour leader Ms. Yang was very kind and shared all the information about today's attractions. She also shared tips on where to eat, play, and shop in Fukuoka, and most importantly, explained Japanese customs and culture. Ms. Yang also specifically emphasized that everyone today was very lucky to encounter a rare festival, 'Mamemaki,' where beans are scattered to ward off evil spirits. Traditionally, it is believed that evil spirits and demons emerge during seasonal changes. To welcome the new year free from illness and disaster, on Setsubun, beans are scattered to drive demons out and invite good fortune in, with the saying 'Oni wa soto, Fuku wa uchi' (Out with the demons, in with good fortune). We were truly so lucky! 👍

The itinerary with ample time and good locations is excellent! Mojiko Retro is great for a stroll. Taking a boat across the Kanmon Strait to Karato Market, Shunpanro, and Akama Shrine is very worthwhile. Kokura Castle was a pity, as there were neither cherry blossoms nor autumn leaves. The Path of Light at Miyajidake Shrine offered a pleasant surprise upon returning. It involves climbing a short flight of stairs, which might be a bit challenging for the elderly. Also, after seeing the main hall's shimenawa, don't miss visiting the Seven Lucky Gods, Inari Shrine, and more behind it. The time allotted for all three attractions was sufficient, allowing for a leisurely walk and thorough enjoyment. However, a full day definitely requires good leg strength and stamina.

Wonderful! Two different journeys over two days created the best memories of my first visit to Japan. The choice of locations was especially reasonable, with each pure sightseeing route providing ample time. Light photography, leisurely shopping, strolling through tranquil gardens, pavilions, and streets, watching the local culture and people flow by – that feeling is incomparable to the "hurry, hurry, get on the bus" rush of a typical tour group. Especially the quick-witted and enthusiastic Lina, who gave us immense help: "Don't go there, it's a rip-off!", "These persimmons are bad raw, they're for making dried persimmons, don't buy them", "This is cheaper than in China, check it out.", "Beef offal is oily, but delicious." Besides the laughter, the impression was profound. Goodbye, Fukuoka; goodbye, Lina. We'll meet again someday.

This was the only line I could find to Miyajigoku after a long search. Next to Karato Market is Kameyama Hachimangu Shrine, which has limited edition cherry blossom Goshuin that are super beautiful! The cherry blossoms at Kokura Castle are also very pretty, and there's a shrine next to it where you can collect Goshuin. Finally, the Goshuin at Miyajigoku are so beautiful!!! The notebooks are also super nice, I bought the golden and cherry blossom notebooks I'd been dreaming of! This trip was perfect! Our guide Wang Fang was very professional and enthusiastic, and the driver was also great. We'll come again during the maple leaf season this year!
