My colleague warned me that I must hire an instructor for my first skiing experience. I initially thought it would be expensive, but I'm glad I did. Skiing is really not something you can learn just by watching YouTube tutorials. The package I booked included all equipment except gloves and a helmet. I recommend renting a helmet for an additional 1500 JPY. I found booking this Klook tour very convenient. The organizer is a ski rental shop, and they drive you directly to the ski resort in an SUV and guide you through putting on the equipment. The key point is that the skiing instruction is very detailed. The instructor provides one-on-one guidance in multiple languages, explaining each movement and helping you get on track. After practicing in the beginner area, the instructor assesses whether you can ski down from the top. I booked the double-board (ski) group, which had fewer people, unlike the snowboard group which was very crowded. The advantage of having fewer people is that the instructor can quickly block you if there's danger and ski down the mountain with you. Although I took the beginner green run at Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort, some parts were still very steep. If you can't make S-turns, you'll go straight down like a roller coaster, which is terrifying. It was 45 minutes of learning while falling. I think the experience was great, and I highly recommend booking this tour, regardless of whether you plan to pursue skiing as a hobby afterward.

We had an amazing time learning and playing in the snow! Snowboarding was such a fun experience, and our guide/instructor, Mio, made it even better. He was incredibly patient, explained everything clearly, and was such a great teacher throughout the whole session. Five stars for his dedication—not only did he teach us well, but he also took high-quality videos of us on the slopes so we could relive the fun. We highly recommend this tour, and especially Mio, to anyone looking for a memorable snowboarding experience!

From the moment she stepped onto the snow, Xun Xun exuded a sense of reassurance. She broke down complex skiing techniques into simple steps, using easy-to-understand analogies to explain weight transfer and braking principles, allowing beginners to quickly grasp them. Throughout the process, Xun Xun was always able to accurately perceive the students' nervousness, meticulously dissecting each movement and pointing out my improper habits one by one. Moreover, Xun Xun did not blindly apply a fixed teaching model. She flexibly adjusted her guidance based on the student's physical coordination and psychological state. For example, she emphasized rhythm control for those afraid of speed, and used visual cues to assist those with stiff bodies. This tailored teaching allowed me, with my poor balance, to quickly pick up skiing techniques. When I officially stepped onto the skis and started trying to glide, she even stood in front of me to help me maintain my posture, allowing me to find my balance at a slow speed first. This non-pressuring guidance made me willing to try boldly, and before I knew it, I was smoothly gliding down the beginner slope! Xun Xun's commitment to safety was also impressive. From safely holding equipment to falling postures, she always considered potential risks in advance. She even proactively adjusted the tightness of the students' protective gear and observed each person's physical condition to ensure no one overexerted themselves. This meticulous observation made me, a first-time skier, feel incredibly secure, allowing me to fully focus on enjoying the process. In the afternoon, she also took me up the mountain to find some beautiful spots for photos. She would help us take pictures and guide our poses, and even explain what was in the background from different angles, such as how to capture Otaru in a certain direction. During the lesson, she would also hold her phone to record videos for us, preserving my successful moments as souvenirs. This journey made me deeply realize that a good instructor is not just a technical guide, but also a builder of learning confidence. Thank you, Xun Xun, for transforming skiing into an adventure full of accomplishment with your professionalism and passion.

This is a very worthwhile skiing experience course, perfect for those new to skiing. The course is well-arranged, and I especially want to thank our dual-ski instructor, Xunxun (Aria), for her meticulous and patient teaching, which made the entire learning and experience process very reassuring and brought this skiing experience to a perfect conclusion. Safety is paramount in skiing, and this course includes all necessary ski equipment, which is very beginner-friendly. You only need to prepare your own warm face mask and thick socks. The overall experience was very relaxed and stress-free, highly recommended.

Our teacher Arya is very skilled, professional and generally awesome! She was very patient with us and she really taught us how to ski and was very hands on. She helped us get up when we fell down and I was surprised how strong she was. She took great pics of us as well and we very much enjoyed our skiing day! Thank you so much to all the staff!

As complete beginners who had never tried snowboarding before, we were honestly quite nervous at first. However, Xunxun (询询) was incredibly kind and patient throughout the entire session. She taught us a lot of useful techniques, from how to control the snowboard to how to protect ourselves when falling. Beyond just the technical skills, she also provided amazing emotional support, making us feel comfortable and less afraid. Thanks to her encouragement, we were able to truly enjoy the snowboarding experience. It was full of emotional value! Overall, it was absolutely worth it for beginners like us. Our trainer was 101% perfect, and we will definitely look for her again the next time we visit Hokkaido 👍

Our instructor CC was the best. He spoke English well and was able to teach us snowboarding newbies the basics within an hour. He promised that if we did well, he would be confident to take us down the slopes for the afternoon session, which we did! He even taught us a little more intermediate stuff. We could tell that he had a real passion for teaching as he made the teaching session engaging and fun right from the start during the warm-ups. He also made sure all of us went at the speed of the slowest person so as to ensure safety and didn't make them feel left behind or pressured to perform well. He checked in on us from time to time, especially if we fell. All around, a really cool guy and the best instructor we could have asked for. We will definitely come back because of CC!
