Thanks to you, I took so many fun and beautiful photos! I'm a Korean in my 20s who spent 3 nights each in Beijing and Tianjin. I can't read any Chinese characters or speak Chinese at all, just "Ni hao" and "Xie xie" like most people. My English is only good enough for basic communication, not for constructing sentences. However, after making a reservation, I sent a friend request to the WeChat number provided, and the owner? replied in English. When I asked questions in English about things like changing the time, the building's location, or period costumes, they answered in both English and Chinese. The Chinese in the WeChat chat was automatically translated, so there was no problem with communication. The Wangfu Century building has two entrances: one straight ahead and one around a curve. When I entered the first entrance I saw, it went downstairs...? With all sorts of hawkers around 😂 I quickly asked on WeChat, and they promptly told me it was the wrong place, so I left the building and successfully entered through the entrance around the curve. Even after going inside, when I explained I had a reservation, a staff member stood up. That staff member seemed to only speak "okay" and Chinese, so all communication was done via Papago! But they were very kind even with the translated communication! And they are an amazing master of makeup. It was a female staff member with slightly ash-brown hair; she was so careful, but her touch was incredibly skilled, which I loved. (I told her via translator that I had applied sunscreen, and she said okay) (+When I asked for a very elaborate look, she said okay). She really did everything well without any discomfort... a hidden master of makeup. And when she showed me ribbons and asked if I wanted them, I said via translator that I wanted the original (when I re-translated the Chinese, it became "I want vintage"), and she said okay. Once she put on the wig hair ornament, my face was no longer my own. A new face was created (literally), and she created an unbelievably beautiful new face that looked great even on an unedited iPhone photo. I was 100% satisfied. My Summer Palace & Beijing traditional costume photos turned out perfectly thanks to this staff member. (I didn't choose the photo shoot option; my older sister took the photos with an iPhone. The photo concept was a mischievous princess from the late Qing Dynasty).

I highly recommend going on a Monday, as the Forbidden City is closed then, meaning fewer people and less crowding! It was so much fun with a professional photographer and service. Two weeks before my trip, Nancy (English translator and coordinator) tried to contact me on WeChat using the number registered on Klook, and she sent an email one day before my trip for confirmation and the shop's location. She guided me to the shop and assisted me in choosing the Hanfu dress, demonstrating her professional knowledge of Hanfu. During my makeup, she was always on standby to translate for me whenever I needed help. She also stayed with me throughout the activities at Beihai Park with a Chinese photographer. She helped me with my poses and movements, and translated Mandarin to English for me. For the entire duration of dressing up and the photoshoot, she was always with me, which made me feel very comfortable and impressed. The package included 5 retouched pictures (she sent all the pictures I took via email for me to choose 5, and then I sent them back to her for retouching). The process took less than one week, and I received all 5 retouched pictures.
