This started off with pickup from Huanglongjia Railway Station. The weather was slightly cloudy and cold. Unfortunately the water in Huanglong freezed into ice so it’s was a bit disappointing. The next we visit Juizhaiguo Valley Scenic Park and save some very beautiful 🤩 ponds which reflect the beauty of Juizhaiguo. In totality this itinerary is very meaningful to us as nature lovers.
The local agency provided contact information before the trip and detailed meeting instructions the day before, which were clear and easy to understand. Any questions were answered very quickly. Our guide, Ah Hao, was also very patient. Information about the scenic spots was provided in the car, so we just followed the map. However, due to the off-season, some trails are currently closed, so we had to adapt to the situation on site. The Tibetan Mystery evening show was not expensive and the performance was excellent, well worth attending. Group meals were all served family-style, and many group members did not have the concept of using serving chopsticks and spoons. It's recommended to proactively ask everyone to cooperate before eating, otherwise, everyone's chopsticks will be stirring in the hotpot. Also, there were many Chinese group members, and there's a high probability that they will try to impose their unified ideology during meals, so be mentally prepared.
Overall a very well planned 3-day, 2-night trip, very organized and not rushed at all. The views at Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou were amazing, a must-see once in a lifetime. Hotpot at a local Tibetan house was a unique experience. Our guide, A Jie, was very thoughtful to arrange separate transport for us as my parents' legs are not the strongest and we were staying in the opposite direction from the rest of the group. Also, a big thank you to Maoniu, our driver, for driving us safely throughout the trip. A tip for those bringing elderly: if their legs are not good, consider bringing a walking stick.
I am incredibly fortunate to have Awang as our tour guide. He genuinely cares for everyone in the group, and he is both sincere and helpful. When a few members fell ill and vomited during the trip, he offered his medicine, moved them to the front seats of the bus, and looked after them. I appreciate the culture of Dongzang, and I also admire the villagers' concept of giving back. They value what they receive and reciprocate, whether through government subsidies or not, always serving with professionalism.
Our guide, Ah Wang (5☆), was helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable about Tibetan culture. We were well taken care of throughout the trip, being the only two foreigners on the bus. The food was a bit spicier than we preferred, but generally palatable. Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou were the highlights; it would have been better if the weather had been sunny. Overall, it was a beautiful, hectic, and tiring 3-day, 2-night trip!
First, after rebooking this trip, I quickly received a call from the butler who meticulously confirmed my details as a traveler from Malaysia, ensuring everything was perfectly prepared. Soon after, I received a WeChat message from our guide, Yang Shan, who clearly outlined the entire itinerary. Of course, I could also directly message her with any additional questions, and her response time was very fast; there was no need to be shy or afraid of bothering her. On the first day, after arriving at Jiuzhai-Huanglong Station and boarding the bus, Yang Shan professionally provided a brief explanation of some local knowledge points, which was very impressive. I suggest that if you have time, you should record it for future reference. I forgot to record it myself, so I didn't fully absorb all the knowledge points, but understanding these adds a little bonus to the rest of the trip. The three-hour Huanglong tour, following the guide's advice, allowed us to conquer all the must-see attractions. Of course, the process had some thrilling moments. I chose to hike down the mountain, but the time required might vary between 2 hours depending on individual fitness. So, I asked guide Yang Shan if I could hike down and still make the集合 time. I was very pleased that she encouraged me to choose hiking down, allowing me to see all the attractions, and she even messaged me during the descent to check on my progress. In the end, I successfully made it back in time for the集合, which was fantastic. For dinner, we were arranged to eat at a Tibetan family's home. This was a slight regret for me personally; it was my first time at high altitude, and my body hadn't adapted yet, leading to a poor appetite. The dinner prepared that evening was a bit too much for me, and I couldn't finish it, which was a little embarrassing. However, I really enjoyed chatting with the beautiful Tibetan girls, listening to the handsome boys sing, and dancing with them. I absolutely loved this part and wished it had lasted longer. The New Jiuzhai Hotel where we stayed that night was also good and very comfortable. On the second day, we visited Jiuzhaigou. Early in the morning, Yang Shan had already sent me a detailed guide. If you want to visit all the key attractions, this guide is perfect, taking just the right amount of time, about 7-8 hours. This time, by chance, we came during the off-season, so many attractions were quite deserted, which was a bit sad. In the evening, there was a show arranged, "Jiuzhai Eternal Love." This activity is optional, and those on a tight budget can skip it. However, honestly, the feeling after watching it was amazing. I gasped in awe countless times during the show – it was wonderful. On the third day, the Klook itinerary simply stated "return home" without much detail. However, on the bus ride to the high-speed rail station, the guide took us to a place called Minjiangyuan, adding some geographical knowledge along the way, which further enhanced the trip. Thanks to this Klook package, the travel time from Chengdu to Jiuzhai and back was reduced, giving me more time to explore other places. And thanks to the excellent service of guide Yang Shan, who provided me with so much knowledge.
We have San, our guide, with us. She is very detailed and professional, task-oriented and efficient. She is also very clear when it comes to the additional cost of entrance fees and the Thousand-Year Romance show ticket. She is very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed the 3-day, 2-night itinerary; it was just right for us to extend our trip from Chengdu. Everything was well-organized and planned. We highly recommend San as a tour guide!
The 3-day, 2-night tour to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong was an unforgettable experience. The breathtaking landscapes, crystal-clear lakes, and snow-capped mountains made the journey truly magical. Our tour guide Yang Shan was excellent, providing insightful information and ensuring everything went smoothly. The hotel accommodation was comfortable and well-maintained, adding to the overall pleasant experience. In the evening, we enjoyed a fantastic cultural show that showcased Tibetan traditions, followed by a delicious Tibetan dinner at a local house, which was both authentic and flavorful. The entire trip was well-organized, and I highly recommend this tour to nature lovers and adventure seekers!
The itinerary was well planned, taking the high-speed rail to Huanglongjiuzhai station to meet the guide. It was a small group, only 4 of us, so they used a 7-seater SUV to transport us. On the way to Huanglong, the guide explained a bit about the history of the place. He then informed us there were additional charges for the shuttle bus, cable car, and the show 九寨沟千古情. We decided to skip the show as we knew we would be tired after returning from Huanglong, but the guide tried to persuade us to watch it. We insisted on not going, and I could sense his mood was not very happy. On the 2nd day, we went to Jiuzhaigou and spent the whole day there enjoying the beautiful scenery; it truly is a 'fairyland on earth'. On the 3rd day, we checked out from the hotel after breakfast. Before taking the high-speed rail back to Chengdu, we stopped at a Tibetan village for a hotpot lunch. After lunch, we were guided to a so-called supermarket where they sold Chinese medicine and started persuading us to buy. When none of us showed interest in buying, the guide started yelling in his language, which we didn't understand. Finally, we exited the supermarket, and the guide shouted '上车 上车' (Get in the car, get in the car) and sent us to the high-speed rail station. All in all, I would say this trip was still worth joining, and the Howard Johnson hotel we chose provided quite good breakfast and dinner for the price we paid. The only exception was that we met an unprofessional guide 😩😩😩
