On the day of our actual cruise, the weather was excellent, with sunlight sparkling on the sea. The photos taken throughout the journey were stunning, and the expansive, comfortable views were incredibly relaxing. Onboard, explanations are provided in Japanese and English, introducing the names and characteristics of each island along the way, adding depth to the tour. However, due to the loud engine noise of the boat itself, it can sometimes be difficult to hear the explanations clearly. If you wish to fully understand the information, it is recommended to do some simple research beforehand as a supplement. Overall, the boarding process was very smooth. You simply need to show your reservation QR code at the pier to quickly exchange it for a boarding pass. Staff members are also on-site to clearly direct the queuing flow, and both the boarding and ticket exchange locations are easy to find, making it very foreigner-friendly. This is a relaxed and pleasant cruise experience where you can enjoy the beauty of Matsushima Bay, one of Japan's Three Scenic Views, without long walks. Whether you are visiting Sendai for the first time or want to enjoy the bay scenery in a leisurely manner, this is a highly recommended itinerary.

It was easy to change the boat tickets, and the itinerary was comfortable. On the way back from Matsushima Coast to Sendai, we could conveniently visit Mitsui Outlet Park. Since it was Black Friday, Nike had a 30% discount. I've been to many outlets in Japan, and this was the first time I saw Nike with a 30% discount; it was really cheap.

The ticket counter is at the boarding area. Be careful not to go to other places and pick up tickets just because you see a ticket window! The ticketing staff will still ask you to go straight to the right. Also, don't cut your ticket collection time too close, as boats depart on the hour, and you'll be in a rush to board! Once on board, take photos of the bay view from inside, and you can generally match the islands you see with those introduced in the brochure.

The boarding and ticket collection point is at the pier, which is a short distance from JR Matsushima Kaigan Station. However, exchanging tickets for the boat was quite convenient, and the boat itself is quite large and doesn't sway much. There's also a guide on board, though the commentary is in Japanese. Overall, it's a convenient and worthwhile experience.

We bought the boat tickets two days before departure. It's about a 40-50 minute drive from Sendai city center. There were 4-5 boat operators offering services, giving it a real summer vacation vibe.

It was a very special experience, especially since there weren't many people on the boat we took. The indoor seating on the second floor was comfortable, and watching the scenery outside was incredibly relaxing and enjoyable!
