The sumo morning training experience was something I wanted to see while in Japan. It was great to see them and get a better idea and appreciation of the training they do for this ancient sport. Definitely a great experience that I would recommend to anyone. Our tour guide was so helpful and knowledgeable.

This was an amazing experience to watch the training session, but personally it felt a little awkward to me being in a group of tourists all sat watching. I didn’t enjoy that feeling. However, the sumo were fantastic. it’s was quite brutal to watch at points. The only explanation of what’s going in handed to you on a sheet of paper before you enter so do read that. You can take photos so worth sitting from row for that if that’s your thing although the lighting is backlit. If you can’t sit on the floor for hours there is a row of stools at the back row.

Being up close and personal with the wrestlers allowed us to witness the intense dedication and hard work that goes into their daily routines. The training is not just about physical strength; it’s a deeply ritualistic process that reflects the rich traditions of sumo culture. From the rhythmic slaps and stomps to the precise movements, every action was filled with purpose and respect for the sport's heritage. Watching the wrestlers up close gave us a newfound appreciation for their craft, showcasing the sheer grit and focus required at this level. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the raw and unfiltered side of sumo, making it a must for anyone interested in understanding this fascinating sport beyond the tournaments.

It was a very interesting experience, well organised and our English guide was super attentive. We really enjoyed watching the training session. Every move was well explained and we had the chance to take pictures with the wrestlers afterwards. Only thing which could be improved: It was not so easy to find the meeting point explained in the mail.. a small map would have been helpful. But we finally made it in time ;)

If you're into sumo and its culture, it was a lot of fun. The arrangements were very smooth and well worth the money.

Our group of 6 joined the Sumo Practice tour yesterday. It was seamless, from the meet up spot as planned and escorted to the stables by our amazing host. Watching the Sumos practice was mesmerising, totally surreal. The time flew by. We were so close that you could feel each impact as they practice. We were given a fact sheet that explained each of the moves which we appreciated. And at the end we were able to take photos with the Sumos, who seemed to enjoy interacting with the visitors once their practice was done. This was the most authentic experience we've had in Tokyo and unreservedly recommend.

An absolutely amazing and authentic experience! Watching the morning training at Takasago Stable was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see sumo up close in its rawest form. The wrestlers' dedication, power, and discipline were incredible to witness — you could feel every collision and hear every breath in the quiet of the keiko-ba. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Tokyo who wants a genuine cultural experience. Worth waking up early for!
