The tour was very memorable because we were able to visit the third tunnel and got so near to North Korea which was a unique experience. Everything was smooth from the bus ride to every visiting stops points until the end. Our tour guide Kenny was incredible: he was very attentive, detailed in his explanations and funny. I recommend this tour for everyone!
Shin is a very good guide who is very informative about the attractions we are visiting, and good controller of time. Mr Kim is a very good driver as well, and the rides are comfortable. Highly recommend!
That was a cloudy and sometimes a bit rainy day. But we have got more than gloomy weather, such as well-arranged route, unique experience to the 2nd tunnel and the Hantan River, a sudden glance at the beautiful crane, a delicious Korean Military Stew lunch at Chewron, and a happy trip with Shin. He is not very extrovert, but rather sincere, reliable and professional. Recommended, yes!
Fantastic experience! Leo guided us meticulously, recounting every detail with enthusiasm and emotion. During the 2-hour journey, he explained the history of Korea, the war, and the division of the nation. We went through a DMZ tunnel, saw the destroyed railway, and from the observatory, we even saw North Korean soldiers. The nature part was also fantastic: the suspended bridge, walking on water. I'm returning tired but satisfied. Thank you, Leo, for this magnificent day!!
It was truly enjoyable!!! It became an unforgettable memory that will last a lifetime. I'm also glad we chose the second tunnel instead of the popular third tunnel. It might be less known, but it wasn't crowded, and we could go 500m into the tunnel, which was a lot of fun. The exhibition hall only had English and Korean explanations, so I'm really glad we requested a Japanese guide. Afterwards, we went to an observatory where we could see North Korea. It was a clear, sunny day, and we could clearly see North Korean villages and flags. Photos are allowed! At the relocated site of a station built by Japan in the past, we saw a locomotive pierced by bullets, allowing us to feel the raw reality of war. We also saw the Korean Labor Office. The food was delicious, and the staff were friendly! At the Geopark, we crossed a bridge placed over a frozen river. This is a winter-only sight, and it seems there's a different route in summer. Our guide, Mr. Park Chang, was also excellent. He explained the history in great detail during the car ride there. We were grateful for ample time given for souvenir shopping and restroom breaks. He planned everything efficiently so we could fully enjoy sightseeing at both the second tunnel and the observatory. Thank you for an absolutely wonderful tour! See you again at the third tunnel! Wishing you happiness!!!!
We had an awesome experience. The guide (Sander) was informative and very happy to chat not only about the tour we were on but also his perception of Korea in general. We also had a very good and very kind driver who helped to give us the VIP experience as the only guest on the tour for the day. The tour was great because we avoided all the other tourists by going to the 2nd tunnel and still got a very full experience. The observatory was interesting, and we still got to see a North Korean soldier despite the cloudiest of days. The river portion of the tour blew us away and was truly magical. We are so glad we chose this tour! If you're on the fence about tunnel 2 or 3, try two and avoid the crowds!
Our guide, Leo, sent reminders the day before about the meeting time and place, and provided excellent commentary throughout the trip. I was pleasantly surprised to see many cranes in the wild as the bus traveled across the rice fields. The highlights were (1) entering the second tunnel where we had to wear helmets to protect our heads from the low ceiling, (2) seeing the DMZ up close through the digital telescope, and (3) the walk on the glass sky bridge and directly on the river to admire the lava-formed cliffs. Overall, it was very enjoyable and didn't feel too crowded with tourists. Lunch was at a cultural area where there was a selection of three Korean eateries – the tofu stew and cold noodles were delicious!
The pacing is perfect. I expected a lot of exhaustive walks, but actually we got proper rests between attractions. I end up more energizing after the tour. Leo (利奧) is a very good and friendly guide that have good knowledge of the places. Although the tour is in English, he can speak in Mandarin too. I highly recommend Leo. Japanese tour would be by another guide, who's a nice person too. If you want to learn more about DMZ from them, remember to get good rest the night before so as not to sleep through the morning bus journey. And there's no need to eat before tour as they will drop by a visitor center where you can buy snacks, cup food and coffee (self-paid). The tunnel is a bit chilling, so grab a jacket before entering. You can take pictures, unlike the 3rd tunnel. You can observe the border and North Korean territory from Peace Observatory. The scenery is amazing. If lucky, you can see cranes too. Lunch was included. The food was good. A good opportunity to try out Northern food. Hantan river is a nice place, another place to take tons of good pictures. Weather is important so choose your season to go wisely. An excellent tour in general. Worth every penny. The only problem I can think of is that the Korean Workers' Party Headquarters is under construction, which I already knew before enrolling and was very satisfied regardless.
Shin is a nice and professional tour guide. He told us the history story of Korea and DMZ zone that we have learnt a lot. I highly recommend for those who want to visit the unique and beautiful side of Korea.
