The rickshaw tour is definitely a must-try option in Kyoto. It offers an extraordinary and immersive experience that familiarizes tourists with different aspects of Kyoto: for tourists who expect good photos and more local travelling information, the driver will give us the best recommendations for an easier and more well-plan trip; for travelers who expect an in-depth experience in this old capital of Japan, the driver could also share information and knowledge about the history, culture and language of Kyoto. My rickshaw driver, Yoshinori Ishikawa-san, demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm and professionalism for this 2-hour ride: conversations with Ishikawa-san was easy and pleasing, which definitely gave me a lingering satisfaction in travelling Kyoto; his professional photographic and filming skills also enriched my impressions of this city. In a nutshell, this tour was incomparable and its uniqueness definitely defined the image of Kyoto in my mind! Highly recommended!
Our guide, Daichi-san, is very nice, friendly, and sociable with a great sense of humor. He started by meeting us at a convenient location and checking our preferred route for our 60-minute tour. We had a great time exploring the Gion area with him, as he shared stories and anecdotes about the sights that we probably wouldn't have known if we had walked around by ourselves. He also stopped frequently to help us take many professionally-looking photos and videos. Overall, it was an amazing experience, and we felt it was worth every yen we paid for the tour. We would definitely recommend this activity, and especially Daichi-san as the tour guide, to anyone who would like to try this rickshaw tour experience.
The experience with the traditional rickshaw in Japan was unique from the very first moment. During the ride, Moto made the experience truly special. He spoke incredibly fluent English, which made communication very easy and comfortable, and allowed him to explain everything with great clarity. He was extremely informative and always tried to give as detailed explanations as possible, about Japanese culture. Every question I had, he genuinely knew how to answer, and in a way that showed deep knowledge and real passion for what he does. What impressed me the most was that he was also familiar with elements from my home country, which made the conversation even more interesting and engaging. This was not just a ride, but a truly authentic cultural experience. I highly and enthusiastically recommend it! You should definitely try this specific rickshaw experience and make sure to ask for Moto at this spot — it is absolutely worth it.
It's absolutely worth it, and I highly recommend everyone give it a try! Since I was traveling with my parents and wanted them to enjoy their trip without getting too tired, I booked a 1-hour rickshaw service. Upon arriving at the meeting point, we were greeted by Mr. Yuki Ichida, whose bright smile was very approachable. He welcomed us with simple Chinese, immediately bridging the gap between us. We reserved three rickshaws, driven by Mr. Ichida, Mr. Takuto Murakami, and Mr. Shinya Ohara. There was a continuous drizzle that day, and before getting on, I somewhat worriedly asked if the rain would affect the tour. Mr. Ichida immediately demonstrated the retractable roof and the waterproof blankets that would cover our laps. Also, because it was a colder day, the seat cushions had pre-warmed heat packs and two blankets, allowing us to start the tour with complete peace of mind. I rode in Takuto's rickshaw. Takuto's English was excellent, and even if there was a misunderstanding due to accent, he patiently rephrased things to explain them to us. During the journey, we asked him if he was too tired, and he replied with a big smile, "It's ok!" You could really feel Takuto's passion for his job, and I'm very grateful for his professional explanations and guidance, which allowed us to explore Kyoto in a more relaxed way. That day, Mr. Ohara drove my parents. During the tour, we learned that Mr. Ohara had only been working for just over two years. My father's physique is not standard, and I felt that Mr. Ohara might have worked excessively hard during the tour. After leaving, I was quite concerned about Mr. Ohara's condition and hoped we hadn't caused him any physical discomfort. Throughout the experience, we noticed that the rickshaws were very clean, and the metal parts were sparkling. Additionally, when stopping for photos, the rickshaw pullers would help remove the waterproof blankets to make the pictures look better, which truly showed their respect for their profession and their meticulousness. Many thanks to Ebisuy for the service provided. Although I thought the price was not low when booking, after the experience, it's clear that the rickshaw pullers' hard work and professionalism are well worth it!
We had an unforgettable experience with the Kyoto Higashiyama Rickshaw Tour. Our guide, Motoki Kageyama, was incredibly kind, respectful, and full of positive energy throughout the entire tour. He made sure my daughter felt special and made the experience even more meaningful with his thoughtful drawings and notes. The tour route was beautiful and relaxing, and we learned a lot along the way. Still, highly recommended and many thanks again to Motoki-san. We will never forget this!
This was my first time riding a rickshaw, and although it wasn't cheap, it was absolutely worth it! 👍 Many thanks to Mr. Yuki Ichida for taking us to beautiful spots we couldn't have reached on foot, showing us the cherry blossoms in Higashiyama 🌸, and taking so many photos for us. My mother was incredibly happy! We had a wonderful two hours. The next day, when we went to Arashiyama, we chose to ride a rickshaw again, using the discount coupon given to us the day before. I truly recommend it! Thank you, Mr. Yuki Ichida, for bringing us so much joy throughout the journey!
I had the best time with Moto-san, who was my rickshaw puller. He is fluent in English and was able to share a lot of trivia about the area we were in. A really fun and interactive experience. I would almost say it was the best thing I did during my trip to Kyoto!
Juste incroyable.
The young man was very kind, spoke a little Chinese and English, and took us to many secret spots known only to locals. He also helped us take many photos. The ride was very smooth and stable, and he made sure we were warm. He was truly thoughtful.
