Dingen om te doen in Taipingshan National Forest Recreation Area

Taiping Mountain is adembenemend mooi en vredig. Het inwisselen van de tickets verliep vlot; het was enkel nodig om de QR-codes te tonen. Ik kom in de nabije toekomst zeker terug.

Lala Mountain is a great place to escape the summer heat in Taoyuan. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the park's giant cypress forest, where the gentle slopes of the trails make for an easy walk. As you hike, breathe in the phytoncides from the mountain, cleansing your mind and body, and experience the beauty of the magnificent natural surroundings! The park also features plants such as green maple, red maple, and beech, forming a highly representative forest ecosystem in the mid-altitude mountains of northern Taiwan. Every November and December, the green leaves turn from yellow to red, creating a uniquely romantic and poetic scene. The park is also an important habitat for wildlife such as the Taiwan blue magpie, yellow-bellied fantail, and Formosan serow.

Online ticket purchasing is convenient, and more importantly, it's cheaper than buying on-site, plus you save on parking fees. Every time I visit Dongyanshan, I buy my tickets directly through Klook. You select your date after purchase, and the tickets are valid for a year, so there's no need to worry about sudden rain forcing a reschedule and making your tickets unusable. It's incredibly convenient.

Manyueyuan is flat and easy to walk, but it gets very crowded on holidays. The latter part of the trail near the waterfall has stairs, which can be a bit strenuous. We recommend starting your hike early, visiting the waterfall area first, and then taking the self-guided trail down the mountain for an easier descent!

Buying tickets online allows for a parking fee discount, which is a great deal. The flat area of the park isn't very large; unless you plan to hike up Baxianshan, you can see everything in about an hour. However, the tickets are inexpensive, so it's still worth exploring at least once!

Wauw~ Ik denk dat je Alishan echt alleen met een pakketreis kunt bezoeken. Er zijn achteraf gezien veel hoge bergen in Taiwan. Er zijn nog hogere bergen, maar Alishan was ook echt fascinerend en ontzettend hoog;; Alleen al het op- en neergaan van de berg duurde een uur, en dan nog de reis vanuit Taichung erbij... je wordt er echt helemaal bekaf van; Zelfs toen we in Fenqihu aankwamen dachten we echt dat we er bijna waren... maar dat was absoluut niet zo. Mocht je snel last hebben van wagenziekte, neem dan echt absoluut reistabletten mee... Zelfs ik, die normaal nooit last heb van wagenziekte, vond het echt zwaar; Vreemd genoeg leken alle mensen uit het Chinese taalgebied – of het nu Taiwanezen (?) of Chinezen (?) waren die ook aan de tour deelnamen – zich kiplekker en prima te voelen... Onze gids was een Taiwanees, en omdat er elk 4 deelnemers uit Taiwan en Korea waren, communiceerde hij in plaats van in het Engels in het Taiwanees en via een vertaal-app in het Koreaans~ Het was een vermoeiende trip, maar als je de foto's ziet, verdwijnt dat gevoel als sneeuw voor de zon zo mooi is het. Zorg dus dat je conditie op peil is en ga zeker allemaal naar Alishan~ Het is ontzettend indrukwekkend!

We took the shortest trail to see the waterfall. A leisurely walk to and fro the trail will take approximately 45 minutes. Rest rooms mid way to the waterfall observation deck was also very clean. Unfortunately, the observation deck to the upper part of the waterfall was not accessible due to the fallen stones. There was even a scenic and forest bathing trail that may take a longer time.

The park is quite spacious, and it's very pleasant to walk around! It's perfect for escaping the heat in the afternoon. This time, I brought my parents to Taitung, and this was one of our stops. 💙 I saw many positive reviews, and I really recommend buying tickets directly on Klook (a full-price ticket is $100 at the gate, but it's $20 cheaper here!). Once you enter the park, just show the QR code to the staff for scanning.
