An indescribably wonderful trip and the best day tour I have ever taken. First of all, the bus tour guide himself had white hair and wore a traditional Icelandic patterned wool sweater, looking like a Viking stepped right into reality and instantly creating a strong sense of immersion. Along the way, we saw the magnificent daytime waterfall shining brightly under the brilliant sunshine. When taking the boat tour of the glacier lagoon, the captain gave each of us a piece of transparent, thousand-year-old iceberg to hold for photos. The apocalyptic feel of Diamond Beach was then brought to life with a ray of bright sunshine. We enjoyed delicious volcanic rock black pizza and endless refills of soup in a bread bowl in the town of Vik. We saw the Seljalandsfoss waterfall at night, surrounded by stars and the aurora borealis amidst the mountains—a rare and wonderful experience in a lifetime. On the way back, we were very lucky to encounter a major aurora outburst. The guide said that according to the rules, he was supposed to return the bus on time without stopping, but he felt we shouldn't miss such a gorgeous aurora, so he decided to take the risk to give us a lucky moment! He finally found a super viewing platform, and we all stopped to capture the most stunning night of the northern lights. It was an extremely memorable journey. Plus, there was free Wi-Fi throughout the entire trip, and the heating was so warm that wearing just a single sweater inside the bus was more than enough. The guide not only introduced every attraction to us, but before parting ways, he also shared his favorite local itinerary as an Icelandic native, including municipal hot springs, sculpture art, and the whale museum, among others. All in all, it was a perfect journey combining nature and culture, entirely deserving of a full score. If you are staying in Reykjavik, taking a tour like this means you won't miss a thing on the South Coast.

Geweldige reis! Onze gids was een gepensioneerde IJslandse man die zeer deskundig is. Ik had wat snacks meegenomen en besloot de lunch in het restaurant over te slaan. De gids regelde dat ik een schilderachtige wandelroute rond het stadje Arnarstapi kon nemen. Een absolute aanrader!

So many similar buses come to the meeting place that it was hard to tell which one was ours. After about an hour on the bus, we arrived at a pitch-black location! At first, there were quite a few clouds, and I think we all pointed our smartphones at the sky for about 10 minutes trying to see something. Around that time, they handed out cocoa, and refills were available! Just as people were starting to head back to the bus, saying we probably wouldn't be able to see anything, someone shouted that they caught the aurora in a photo! We all ran over there and took pictures✨ A green aurora showed up in the photos, but to the naked eye, it looked like white wisps! Still, as an experience of seeing the aurora, I am extremely satisfied!

I chose the comfort package, it was good enough for me, but not included bathrobe, I suggest to buy one, because it’s really cold after the hot spring bathing. Amenities were sufficient, included a locker, towel, hair dryer, conditioner, shampoo and shower gel in washroom, lotion as well. there was a good experience, the lagoon is larger and beautiful, different area may experience different temperature in the lagoon, it was funny, and there are two sauna as well. There are several peak hour timeslot like 11am-12pm, 15pm-17pm would be full booking,so if your travel plan is packed, book the preferred timeslot earlier. And there are souvenir shop in front if the entrance, if you forget to bring a swimsuit, you can buy in there.

De meest voorkomende dagtocht in IJsland. Onze gids was deskundig, het was duidelijk dat de operators alle gidsen hadden gevraagd om voorbereid te zijn. Hoewel de krater zo-zo was, waren de Gullfoss-watervallen prachtig en adembenemend. We konden ook even langs een kleine boerderij gaan en een paar van de IJslandse paarden aaien, die zo schattig zijn. Hopelijk kan de prijs iets lager.

Watervallen van Skógafoss & Seljalandsfoss, regenboog bij de waterval 🌈. IJskoud, huilende wind en stromende regen. De natuurlijke schoonheid van lichtbreking. Ik ben getuige geweest van de magie van natuurlijke lichtbreking bij de watervallen Skógafoss en Seljalandsfoss. Bij beide een regenboog gevangen! 🌈 #Reynisfjara Het weer op het zwarte zandstrand van Reynisfjara was slecht, en hoewel ik afstand hield, werd ik gegrepen door een verrassingsgolf. In die exact fractie van een seconde dacht ik: 'Als ik nu sterft, krijgt mijn familie tenminste 12 miljoen aan verzekeringsgeld.' #Gletsjer van dichtbij bekeken. Het wit is heel anders dan het wit dat ik ken; het is een natuurlijk wit met lichtbrekingen, betoverend vanuit elke hoek 🌟. # #

We hebben genoten van alle aspecten van het museum. We hadden net onze Ringweg-reis afgerond en dit was een onderdeel dat onze reis samenbracht en de resterende vragen beantwoordde.

We hebben genoten van de volledige dagtour door de Cirkel van Goud op 16 oktober om 10:00 uur! Het weer was niet erg zonnig, maar het was nog steeds goed genoeg om van de meeste bezienswaardigheden te genieten! De tour voelde echter wel een beetje gehaast aan. Sommige stops duurden ongeveer 30 minuten, wat onvoldoende aanvoelde als je foto's wilde maken, van het uitzicht wilde genieten en de plek echt wilde waarderen zonder je constant zorgen te hoeven maken over te laat komen. Soms hadden we het gevoel dat we terug naar de bus moesten haasten. We hadden graag wat meer tijd gehad bij elke stop. Onze favoriet was de Geysir! We hebben gewacht tot de geiser een paar keer uitbarstte om de perfecte foto te maken en dat was het absoluut waard. Een speciale vermelding voor onze gids MARGERIT, die ongelooflijk veel kennis had en verhalen zo levendig vertelde dat ik de dingen die ze beschreef bijna voor me zag. Sommige van haar verhalen brachten me echt op het idee om te dromen van een terugkeer naar IJsland. Dat maakte de ervaring speciaal! ✨ Kortom, een geweldige tour met prachtige bezienswaardigheden en een uitstekende gids. Ik wou alleen dat het tempo iets ontspannender was!

Good experience thanks to Alessio, captain and crew from special tours - managed to see 2 humpback whales & 2 mica whales! Thankfully the captain was skilled and reversed when the whale was near us, unlike other smaller boats who charge towards the whale...

We werden weliswaar op tijd opgehaald, maar de lokale buschauffeur nam het nogal losjes met de regels. Het kan voorkomen dat hij, afhankelijk van de verkeerssituatie, je uitstapplaats wijzigt. Op die dag werden we bijvoorbeeld niet rechtstreeks teruggebracht naar het busstation om over te stappen op het shuttlesbusje naar het hotel. In plaats daarvan kondigde de chauffeur onderweg ineens aan dat het te laat was om naar het busstation te gaan en dat hij dat niet meer zou doen. Hij zette alle passagiers af bij een bushalte in de stad die hij handiger vond voor iedereen om terug naar het hotel te gaan (maar die nog op ruim 20 minuten lopen van ons hotel lag). Pas na doorvragen zette hij ons af bij een iets dichterbij gelegen bushalte (nog steeds zeven minuten lopen naar het hotel). Hoewel dit ons de tijd bespaarde van het wachten en overstappen op het hoofdstation, hadden we sterk het gevoel dat we, ondanks dat we ervoor betaald hadden, bijna ergens halverwege waren gedropt zonder te weten waar we waren. Al met al vonden we de uitvoering van de transferdiensten erg slordig.
