We had a fantastic stay at ILLUME Taipei. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout our visit, even surprising us by delivering a lovely birthday cake directly to our room for my wife. Our rooms were clean, spacious, and conveniently set up right next to each other, offering a great balance of proximity and privacy. The bathroom and shower were exceptional, featuring fantastic water pressure and a modern layout. The hotel facilities were also a major plus. Having on-site laundry made our stay very convenient, and the dining at Sunny Buffet was excellent, with a great selection of food. While English was a bit weak for a few of the staff members, their warmth, patience, and effort to help easily made up for it. Overall, it was a comfortable and memorable stay, and we would gladly return.

The hotel rooms have obviously gone under a recent refurb and are clean and spacious. The location is fab, just next to Taipei Arena MRT and with several bus lines connecting you to other parts of Taipei. The common areas (particularly the painfully slow lifts) are a little dated but still charming. The staff is lovely and was very accommodating at check-in and check-out.

As a frequent visitor to Taipei, Illume is almost always my hotel choice. Rooms are generous in size, but not over appointed. Staff is helpful, but usually points you to the suite of automated services features - chatbot, self-checkin and out. The location is excellent, the fitness center is excellent and there are lots of places nearby for great coffee and food... plus a handy 7-11 in the hotel complex. Really everything you could possible need.

Older property but inexpensive. Fairly large rooms. Convenient location. Just don’t expect a luxurious experience.
