FantasticStayed with partner
優點:

Fantastic The location within the park is wonderful - allows early morning solitary hikes - before the tour buses arrive. Hiking again around noon or after is also better as the tour groups are more spread out throughout the park. The buffet was really good!

It would be great if the building has an elevator.

The hotel is in a beautiful nature reserve, and that’s the reason to stay overnight. But the Howard has some drawbacks. Check-in can be painfully slow. I asked before and at check-in for rooms with easy access for my elderly parents, and was assigned the Phoenix building that requires a climb up 39 steps. The manager seemed to think that TWD$680 for the dinner buffet was a great deal. But the buffet was mediocre: many dishes seemed cold. If you stay, it will be for the wonderful scenery.

Be aware this is an old dormitory facility. The rooms are basic but clean. The whole place smells a bit of mildew. Pillows are not good. There are many hills and stairs to get to some of the rooms. Breakfast was good. It was convenient to be inside the park starting the day, as we avoided some of the crowds from buses.

We had a bad experience finding the registration office. We came in from a different entrance (#2). There was no sign that the registration office is in a complete different building. My poor old mom had difficulty in walking had to waste her energy in going up and downhill with me trying to ask people and looking for the registration place. We only had a difficult time at the beginning. We enjoyed the rest of the staying because the staff were very nice and the food was great.

I like that the property is inside a restricted area. The hotel room is very clean and thoughtfully organized. The bed warmer is also a nice touch.
