GreatStayed with partner
We had two rooms booked for two nights. The rooms were big and well appointed, with really nice shampoo, conditioner. Etc
Nice tea bags, coffee Etc too. The building is very interesting, being historically shipping offices. We had booked the hotel because of the pool, so it being out of action was disappointing. However, it was a good stay, good location. Nice and quiet at night also.

Do not go here in the summer. The “climate control” is not air conditioning. It was much hotter in our room than outside, and staying in the hotel was very hot. We opened the windows, but they did not vent well, and a ton of bugs came in. The pool was also closed. We paid extra for a suite with canal view and large windows, but they put us up on the 4th floor with small, set back windows which did not have a good view or the canal. When we asked to switch rooms, they said they were full and could not move us.

FantasticSolo stay
Wonderful hotel, like a cross between The Continental and the hotel from The Shining! Extremely friendly and helpful staff, amazing breakfast, I had a junior suite for 4 nights which was huge, clean and well-appointed. Great location just a 10 minute walk from the Dam Square. Will definitely stay again.

We were very pleased with our large room with high ceilings and canal view. It was very quiet and was a good location from the train station. The restaurant was fantastic for breakfast and elegant for dinner! Would highly recommend. Staff was helpful and friendly.

The hotel itself is gorgeous, you can't miss it walking from the station. The whole ambience was beautiful and had an old world feel to it. We did a lot of exploring into the main area of the city which was a 15 min walk from the hotel.
The staff was very kind, we arrived earlier than check in time and were able to leave our luggage and explore the city.
Our room was in the downstairs area so we didn't have a view of the city but that was okay for us since we only were in the room to sleep and get ready in the morning.
House keeping did a great job keeping the room tidy and supplying bar items and towel replacements.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

The footprint of the building is a maze of turns, stairs finding the right elevator etc. was very challenging. We ended up in a room which was an add on to the original building. We called it the attic annex. No true air conditioning (only circulates the air) so the fan was much needed. It was not the room we expected (and paid for).

It's location was the only highlight. Though not exactly at the central station or at Damm square, it gave access to the station and restaurants. Check in was boring! Reaching our room - needed a map! Awkward hotel with far too many nooks and corners! What breakfast? We were told our booking did not include it. Perhaps so! We found it expensive so had coffee & croissant round the corner.
Not a hotel we would recommend.
And of course our room was certainly not the choicest - as mentioned twice earlier, reservations through hotels.com don't get priority - direct with hotel... Does!
