The hotel location is very central and it's connected to many major train stations and shopping centres. However, the staff are not customer orientated. We arrived late in the evening and were thirsty and tired. We asked the check in staff for some plain water but were told that we either have to pay 180 yen for a bottle or drink the complimentary bottle inside the room or use the kettle to boil or drink directly from the tap. This is very disappointing. Throughout our stay in Hokkaido, we observed that complimentary plain water is provided in all the eating places and other hotels. But Sapporo Grand Hotel does not provide to us during our check in late in the evening when we needed water most.

It's a very old hotel but we'll kept and very cleaned. Location very convenient as well, in between sapporo and odori station. Many entrance leading to the underground walk way for restaurants and shops. Many eatery around and Starbucks inside the hotel. Lawson just opposite. Room was spacious just that toilet and shower room are separated from 1 end to the other end of the room,which I dislike. Breadfast spread not too bad, Japanese and western style. Will stay here again if come to Sapporo.
