Fantastic 5.0
The tour of Borobudur and Prambanan temples was thoroughly satisfying. Although the government entrance fees are high, the preservation, restoration, and maintenance efforts are befitting of a World Heritage site. The park transportation and the detailed explanations from the guides made it well worth the cost. PRAS, who explained Borobudur, was fluent in Japanese and shared stories about visits from the Imperial Family and how JICA, with Japanese ODA, helped with the site's development. His explanations of the history and reliefs were also excellent. For lunch, we ate at a delicious restaurant on the way to Prambanan. The daytime temperatures were high, and we were quite tired after Borobudur in the morning, so we only visited the main areas of Prambanan. Our driver, Romy, was a friendly young man who loved Japanese anime and kept us entertained with engaging conversation during the long journey. He was also skilled at photography and took some great pictures for us. This tour comes highly recommended.

Romy from Tejong Asia was an excellent tour guide. He arrived early to pick us up and was able to drop us off at different locations along the way so we could get the things we needed, such as breakfast, water, and iced drinks. He was very accommodating throughout the trip. he also edited the videos for us; he took photos and videos for the tour. He took the initiative to make a video on his own, and it was super cute and high quality. He also prepared plastic bags for us after the tour because he knew that our clothes would be wet, which was very helpful. Thank you, Romy. Anni from Pindol cave and gave us the best tour and even gave me his slippers because I lost mine in the water while he walked on the rocks barefoot and carried our rubber tubing for us, truly the best experience booking this tour. highly recommend for anyone looking to do smth fun in Jogja!

Everything went on smoothly. Our driver, Romy, picked us up from our hotel on time. Both provider and Romy contacted us ahead of time in terms of our tour and itinerary. Romy was friendly, informative and gave us an awesome experience! We have learned so much from our Borobudur tour, c/o Mr. Mura who knew a lot about history and mythology 😅 Our whole itinerary lasted 6 hours, including travel time. Overall a very nice experience. Will surely book again if we go back to Jogja! 💯

it's considerably more expensive than if you were to organize yourself, BUT, I think it's worth it. My driver Adit was very helpful, and punctual. He also very friendly and provided me with a lot of information. The trip was smooth, he helped handle all the tickets, processes. The car was spacious , clean and had bottled water and tissue ready. I got to cover 2 temple complexes within a morning. I would recommend to someone wanting to travel without fuse, save energy for exploring and wants something time-efficient and safe.

This was my very first time visiting a volcano, and I did it solo I had an absolutely amazing experience. Huge thanks to Mas Uji from De Jong Asia Holidays for being such an incredible guide. Since I was traveling alone, he made sure I was safe and well taken care of the entire time. Knowing that it gets freezing up there, he even borrowed a blanket for me, prepared meals, and served warm ginger tea such thoughtful details Overall, I loved this trip so much. Highly recommended, especially if you're traveling solo😊

The Borobudur sunrise tour was truly amazing, and our guide Wahyu made it even better -he arrived an hour early, kept perfect time, and gave insightful explanations throughout. ***Now about the Borobudur: The temple itself is breathtaking, though we were a bit disappointed to see some visitors sitting on the ancient structure despite the guide clearly stating it's not allowed. Given that it's a UNESCO-protected site, we feel more staff should be stationed at the top to gently enforce these simple rules. Also, the free time felt quite rushed one hour wasn't quite enough to fully take in the grandeur of the place.

Our guide, Dian, was truly amazing! We hit it off right away. He answered our questions without hesitation and guided us very well along the routes, even when he wasn't present during the actual visits. He didn't hesitate to introduce us to little extra sights and let us taste local products. The places he recommended for breakfast and lunch were fantastic! As for the itinerary: we couldn't enjoy the sunrise because of the clouds, but the setting was still quite pretty and relaxing. Regarding the Borobudur Temple, everything was very well organized, complete with a guide. The site is beautiful! As for the second Hindu temple, we couldn't see everything because we only had 2 hours, but the site is very large and we were approached by charming students on numerous occasions! The temples are magnificent. During the trip, water was handed out to us several times, and there was air conditioning in the car. Thank you, Dian!

Interesting show to watch. Dis not avail the dinner buffet because I already ate but there’s also a cafe outside the amphitheater where, you can hangout while waiting for the show to open AT SEVEN THIRTY (7:30 PM). I just hope you have the option to choose your seat as seats on the side does not have a back rest. Nonetheless, it is worthwile seeing the show when in Jogja!

What to know before visiting Yogyakarta

What to expect in Yogyakarta

This catalogue is led by Tours, then Events & shows, Massages, Cultural experiences and Zoos & aquariums, which means you can mix guided excursions with live events and short wellness stops during a single trip. Peak visitor demand clusters in July, while March is the quietest month, so expect the same popular experiences to be busiest in July and far easier to book in March. Overall the range of options suits both sightseeing-first travellers and those who prefer shorter cultural or wellness activities.

Choosing the right activities to book

The main choice is whether you want wide variety or a straightforward, low-cost option — Tours offer the widest range with entry-level prices typically around USD 22 and upper-end options typically around USD 66, so they suit travellers who may trade up for private or extended outings. If you prefer predictable pricing where shopping around gains little, Massages and Zoos & aquariums have narrow ranges: massages are typically around USD 23, and zoos & aquariums are typically around USD 4. For filling schedule gaps cheaply, the most affordable way in is Zoos & aquariums at about USD 4, while mid-range choices such as Events & shows and Cultural experiences vary in what they include and reward comparing options around USD 17 and USD 18 respectively.

When travelers from the United States book

Most travellers book shortly before travel, with bookings typically made about 2 days ahead and the earliest planners booking around 9 days out. That means plan on booking a few days in advance for most experiences rather than months ahead, but allow extra cushion if you travel in the busiest month of July when demand peaks.

How Yogyakarta activities compare on price

The table below shows how the city’s top activity categories compare on typical paid prices and their usual ranges.

Category Typical Price Usual Range
Tours USD 24 USD 22 – 66
Events & shows USD 17 USD 8 – 20
Massages USD 23 USD 22 – 36
Cultural experiences USD 18 USD 12 – 21
Zoos & aquariums USD 4 USD 4 – 5

Typical price is the median paid on Klook; the usual range covers the middle half of bookings, so cheaper and pricier options exist outside it; prices are shown with their currency code. Based on Klook booking data, August 2025 – July 2026.
