Reviews
Highly recommend this activity! Our driver was Rian. He was amazing, speaks good English and is knowledgeable. He came early and got us there early so we could get a good number and avoid the wait. The crew at Jomblang cave were experienced and knew what they were doing. Everything was smooth and fast. Once you are in the cave, you are free to explore at your own pace and going back up will be first come first served. It can be quite muddy inside but boots are provided so no issues for us. klook also arranged everything seamlessly. They would set up a WhatsApp chat to keep us informed on the activity we booked and the driver would WhatsApp us after. We asked to cancel the trip to timang beach due to earthquake from the sea and they were very accommodating.
Our driver Andi is very nice and helpful, all the local questions he can help and give us an answer, he is very professional no matter driver or guide.
Our driver <Joko> was very friendly. While on the way to the Jomblang cave, he bought us water and some Kopiko sweets and brought us to mangoteen fruit store which is not part of the itinerary. He knew most of the villagers near the cave and we had fun being drove along by him around to the cave and back to the hotel. Our guide at the cave were experts and briefed us before we went down the cave of their safety equipment used and what we should and should not be doing. Firstly, they took us down with photos taken to the cave and we had to walk 300m into the legendary spot where our photos and videos (refer to attachment for photo) are took. Our group size was 24pax and they manage to take care of each of us while running around the slippery cave like mountain goats. My wife and I manage to take some of the most beautiful pictures we ever had within the cave. While we ascend one by one out of the cave, they had a team of 20+ pax who pull us out of the cave two by two at a comfortable pace. Thankful for this unforgettable experience. Outside the cave, they sell photos of our group and individual which to me is a must have, but it’s optional. They provided a local lunch with coffee and tea which we only had munches of it because we were very tired from the climb back but all of this is worthwhile after revisiting the photos we took.
😊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had the pleasure of having Adit as our driver. He was punctual, reliable, patient, helpful & friendly. He gave us space to rest during the drives. We had so much fun at the Jomblang Cave & were amazed by how systematic & organised the whole process was. We had a queue number & we felt safe & secure throughout the abseil down & trek, & enjoyed the local interaction as well. There is only one session per day & we were the last group to be raised up. Hence, we saw the helmets & rain boots being cleaned & washed after. 😊The Jomblang Cave crew was overall professional & would do their best to assist and reassure you. My friend usually has a fear of heights, but didn’t feel scared when she was there. They also take great shots/ videos in the cave & were friendly and alert to anyone who needs assistance. It also takes a community to bring you back up so its a great reminder to be nice & kind to everyone there. We were also fortunate with the weather & could see the rays! 😊Also liked the meal after the trek as it was simple, delicious & satiated my hunger after the trek. They also provided a bottle of water. Some tips for Jomblang Cave: * Bring long, comfy socks that you are okay with disposing after the trek as it can get muddy. Rainboots were provided on site, * Bring a headlight if you have night blindness, * Shower cap to put on prior to using the helmets, * Pack as little as you can. Maybe valuables, phone with a sling strap & a small bottle of water will suffice, * Be patient & take in the sights & nature as you will have pockets of time waiting for each other, & * Dont rush. Walk carefully. Find your footing first. You can also purchase your photos by the end of the trek during lunch! Washing facilities were available after. Not the best but sufficient to dust/ wash off any mud. 😊We went to Timang Beach after & went on the gondola ride that was operated manually as well. I recommend this for moderate adventure seekers & those who would enjoy a good view and nature! Our local guide, Gali drove us up on the 4x4 Jeep & we loved every moment of it. Yes, it was rocky but it was fun as it was something we don’t get to experience every day & had fun! He was friendly & took great shots as well. I like how the locals take pride in their work & were very professional. 😊 This approach was the same when we reached the rocky cliff island after crossing via the gondola ride. We felt safe & secure here as well. There is a team waiting for us at the rocky cliff who are also responsible for operating the gondola ride the other end. The local guide that guided us was excited to show us the best points for great shots & was helpful and friendly. They would follow us around with at a distance to ensure that we were safe & fine. The scenery and seeing the waves of the Indian ocean crashing onto the rocks was absolutely beautiful! We had coconut juice after at a shack near the entrance of thr gondola ride. Refreshing! Some Timang Beach Tour Tips: * Wear sandals / shoes that are comfortable & provides a great grip and balance as the cliff’s terrain is rocky & uneven. Would recommend this tour to everyone who wants to get up close & personal to nature, don’t mind getting a little dirty & love some moderate adventure. Go with an open mind & you’ll have the best time! Would recommend our driver, Adit & the this tour’s itinerary!😊 Cheers & regards, NIC (Singapore) 😊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Nice experience overall. Long waiting time cos only 2 people can go up/down at a time. Get your guide to get an earlier queue number for going down, and be near the front on the way back. Shower facilities not ideal, but more of sweaty than dirty at the end, n there’s taps to wash off so not a must to shower. Our cave rays only appeared for seconds, but heard it had been cloudy the last 2 weeks.
amazing experience, a little bit on the rougher side, but that's the beauty of it.
The driver was very professional and picked up and dropped off at the designated location on time. During the event, he was also very considerate in helping us pick up rain boots for lunch and take photos. He even edited it into a video and sent it back to us. The weather was very good that day and it was an experience worth visiting. Although the way to enter the cave was It looks traditional but is very safe and the staff are very attentive
Our driver, Romy, was pleasant and fun to talk to. He contacted us the day before to confirm the pickup time, was punctual, and his vehicle was clean and comfortable. At the site, visitors descend according to a queue number system at 10 am. Our queue number was 18, and we waited around 45 minutes for our turn. As other reviewers have mentioned, the trek into the cave can get quite muddy and slippery, so proper clothing definitely helps. I slipped a few times, but thanks to my long tights and long-sleeved shirt, I only ended up with minor bruises and scratches. Tip: bring a hair cover and long socks if you feel iffy about the provided helmet and boots. There was also some waiting inside the cave as everyone queued for photos at different spots, but time passed quickly and the cave itself was stunning and absolutely worth visiting. We also added Kalisuci cave tubing to our itinerary. IMO, this is a great way to spend the afternoon after exploring Jomblang Cave in the morning.
So convenient. They will assist you with everything.
It was one of the hoghlights of our trip to Jogja. Joko is a decent English speaker, something that's quite difficult to find in Jogja. Because of this, he was able to help add some info about the tour, like details about the cave, some buildings we were passing through that we asked him about. He was also well versed with the process and queue. As for the experience, it truly is exciting to rapel up and down. The hike needs physical effort and fitness as the trail is muddy, steep, slippery and dark. The cave crew were really helpful and nice.
