It’s quite difficult to find a decent, genuinely ethically ran elephant sanctuary these days but after much searching, Joy is the real deal. Hotel pick up was swift and on time and once there the guides were clear and professional. The elephants were not forced to interact with us. They had their designated snack time (they are fed regular meals by their keepers) which we gave them, and we were invited to walk with them afterwards, several metre distance, no touching. Afterwards we could clean off in the sanctuary’s stream, the elephants were not made to come, but they are given free reign to come and go as they please, and they came. It was a wonderful sight. The rafting add on was well worth it, and we were lucky enough to do so in a storm! The torrential rain added to the atmosphere. (I’ll add that the guides ensured that the route was safe first before sending us down!)

A truly unforgettable experience! Our guide, Peter, was friendly and talkative. Since I was traveling alone, he was also very thoughtful and helped me take photos. My fellow travelers were also very friendly, which added a lot of fun to the trip. I initially thought the mountain fire would obscure the views, but the outcome was quite a pleasant surprise!

Great experience with elephants. Started off with an initial briefing, then feeding the elephants, then small hike parallel with the elephants up & down the mountain to a river stream where we bathe in cold fresh water. We were given lunch. Post lunch we prepared local thai inhaler, examined the elephant, prepared and food special digestive food for the elephants and finally planted banana trees. The guide and team were very nice and professional. Highly recommended

A very happy hike, the tour guide was humorous and responsible. Chiang Mai at seven in the morning still carries a slight cool mist. The guide picked us up promptly at 7 o'clock... Our family of three embarked on a small hiking trip to Doi Inthanon. Almost everyone in the car was a friend from all over the world. We chatted softly along the way, like a gentle outdoor English corner. Unforced, not awkward, comfortable and relaxed. We walked the K trail. The mountain road was wrapped in greenery, and the air was so clean that you wanted to take a deep breath. The guide was humorous and gentle, telling stories about the mountains, forests, and local areas as we walked. No rigid explanations, just the comfort of listening slowly. The group members were all exceptionally friendly. As we walked, we sang songs and chatted together. Strange but warm, it was the most precious little surprise of the trip. Along the way, we stopped in a quiet coffee village to drink a cup of mountain coffee. We climbed to the top to see the vastness of the King and Queen Pagodas. Finally, we listened to the murmuring sound of the water at the Wachirathan Waterfall. Nature, culture, scenery, all just right. The whole ten-hour hike Not tiring, but full of healing. Compared to traveling independently, I prefer this small group rhythm. No need to rush the itinerary, no need to check the route. You can meet interesting people and hear different stories. Peaceful, relaxed, and full of freshness. The mountains and fields of Chiang Mai really hide too much gentleness. This day deserves to be remembered well. 🌿

Great trip with hotel pickup and drop-off! The tour guide and local guide led everyone up the mountain. The scenery was beautiful and worth a visit. The price should be the best value! Highly recommend everyone to participate!
