Things to do in Hobart

My family had a great time with Tasman Island Cruise. Saw so much wildlife (whale, dolphins, seals) and the rock cliffs along the coastlines were so awesome. They provide huge red raincoats, but please do layer up! We went on 2 Dec but was still so cold despite wearing 3 layers. Do also wear beanies and gloves as it does get quite cold halfway into the tour while you are out at sea. The 2 lady guides were great and created a fun atmosphere! I had a great experience on the Mt Wellington / kunanyi 2.5-hour hop-on hop-off explorer bus tour. It actually started off a bit rainy and foggy, and I thought we wouldn’t see anything — but around ten minutes later the sky suddenly cleared. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. We ended up enjoying the most incredible, clear views of Hobart from the top of the mountain. The bus was comfortable, the ride was smooth, and the flexibility to hop off made the whole experience easy and relaxed. It was definitely a memorable and worthwhile tour.

Purchased 2 activity tour for puffing billy train, heasville and Yarra choloaterie as well as Phillip island, moonlit sanctuary, nobbies and Brighton beach boxes day tours. The tours were guided by 2 different company. Both guides were knowledgeable and multi tasked as a driver and photographer too. Redemption was fuss free. Sufficient time was provided at each stop to allow us to take photos or have meals. There were some cost savings compared to booking them individually. Recommend to purchase the pass depending whether the activities listed are places you planned to go.

His passion, knowledge, and genuine care turned a beautiful island into a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience. Felt less like a tour, more like exploring with a friend. Highly recommend!

Hugh and Zoe were awesome guides! Hugh caught so many abalones and sea urchins within what seemed like just 15mins while Zoe was fantastic in preparing the seafood and sharing about sustainable fishing in Tasmania. Hugh was also an absolute masterchef, cooking up a storm on board once he was done fishing. It was a lovely and unforgettable experience, food was amazing and such positive and happy vibes all round. :) highly recommended!

Our guide Brett was friendly, reassuring, and knowledgeable, teaching us to spot Tasman wildlife and driving us to each itinerary spot with ample time to explore. However, the day before, I was texted by the coordinator to walk to the travel information center because I'm the only one who opted for hotel pickup. On the day, the van detoured to pick up others at various hotels, including my preselected one. Just curious why would the coordinator made me do unnecessary walk im a cold winter morning! 🥹
