Fantastic 5.0
The tour was conducted in Chinese, which I didn’t know beforehand, haha! So I couldn’t really understand any of the explanations since everything was in Chinese. Other than that, I’m still glad I joined this tour because visiting these three destinations on my own would have been quite difficult. Overall, it was a convenient way to see all three places in one day!

Fantastic 5.0
For families traveling to Japan with both seniors and children, chartering a car is the most convenient option. Our driver, Mr. Cui, was very thoughtful. He helped us adjust our initial itinerary into a smoother route and took us to restaurants that only locals know about. Highly recommend!

Thank you, Ms. Nakatani, for your meticulous care, especially for your thoughtful and thorough attention to the elderly members of our group. Your explanations of the attractions and scheduling demonstrated exceptional professionalism. We were fortunate to have your care this time and hope for another opportunity to meet again. Wishing you peace and joy.

What to know before visiting Takamatsu

Top experiences and seasonal rhythm

Takamatsu’s most-booked experiences are cultural experiences, followed by guided tours and a smaller number of cruises. Demand peaks in January and falls to a low in June, so the city’s quieter months offer easier availability while winter brings the busiest booking period.

Best activities by traveller type

Families tend to favour cultural experiences and gentle cruises that are easy to enjoy together, while couples often choose immersive cultural experiences or more premium guided tours for a special day out. Solo travellers and small groups will find a wide range of tours to match specific interests, and cultural experiences are an easy, lower-cost way to explore the city on your own.

What travellers from the United States typically book ahead

Most travellers from the United States plan roughly around ten days ahead, with the earliest planners booking closer to about 24 days out; this makes January — the peak month — the time when advance booking matters most. If your trip is shorter and you value flexibility, many activities can still be picked up a day or two before, but secure popular dates in January by booking earlier.

Comparing categories: price and who they suit

Cruises are the easiest entry point on average and sit at the lower end of the price range, appealing to budget-minded travellers or families seeking a relaxed outing. Cultural experiences occupy a modest, consistent price band and suit almost anyone looking for local flavour. Tours span the widest range from mid-range to premium, making them the option for travellers wanting tailored or higher-end experiences.
