Reviews of Barcelona hotels

Fantastic 5.0
I found Hotel SB Plaza Europa to be a solid mid-range option, especially if I’m looking for good value rather than a central location. The rooms feel clean and modern, and I’m generally comfortable with the bed and amenities. I also like that there’s a rooftop pool, gym, sauna, and an on-site restaurant with a decent breakfast. The staff come across as friendly and helpful, and I appreciate how convenient the location is for the airport, Fira Barcelona, and the nearby Gran Via 2 shopping mall. That said, the biggest downside for me is that it’s not in central Barcelona, so I have to travel about 15–20 minutes to reach major attractions like La Rambla or the Gothic Quarter. I also notice that standard rooms can feel a bit small, and things like breakfast and parking cost extra. Overall, I see it as a comfortable and practical choice if I don’t mind staying outside the city center, but not the best fit if I want everything within walking distance.

Fantastic 5.0
Really nice design style hotel in a great location. The room was big an the bed was very comfortable and there was a free upgrade too. The roof terrace has a view of the Sagrada Familia and the restaurant had a lovely garden.

More about Barcelona hotels

Staying in Barcelona: budget to luxury at a glance

Stays in Barcelona span a moderate-to-wide range — top-tier rooms typically run roughly 2.4 times the cost of the most affordable options — so you can choose between clear budget picks and distinctly upscale hotels. The best balance for most travellers is the premium tier, which tends to offer the strongest value between price and quality.

How the hotel classes compare and who they suit

Economy options sit well below the city average and are aimed at travellers prioritizing low cost over frills. Standard rooms step up from economy and are a sensible mid-range choice for travellers wanting a bit more comfort without a big price leap. The biggest jump in price happens between premium and luxury: premium delivers good value for travellers who want better finishes and convenience, while luxury represents a notable premium suited to travellers seeking a distinctly higher-end stay. Choose economy for tight budgets, standard for steady comfort, premium for the best value balance, and luxury when you want to splurge.

When travellers from the United States tend to book

Rates are lowest around 01 and highest around 07, so a budget-led trip works best in 01 when nightly rates are at their cheapest. Rooms are typically reserved about 35 days in advance, so travellers often lock in plans several weeks ahead; if you’re visiting in the priciest month, consider booking earlier to secure preferred rooms.
