What to expect
Head to the stunning, limited-time winter ice sculpture festival, the [Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival], held from January 30 to February 23 ※ Admire the nearly 13-meter-tall giant ice pillar “Blue Tower”, the Ice Shrine, and over 30 ice pillars of various shapes.
※For departure dates outside the Lake Shikotsu Ice Festival period from January 30 to February 23, the itinerary will be changed to visit the [Hill of the Buddha]
[Hill of the Buddha] The entire “Head Buddha” hall was designed by the world-renowned architect Tadao Ando. From the outside, only the top of the giant Buddha’s head is visible, creating a mysterious and solemn atmosphere. Inside the Buddha hall, the atmosphere is incomparably peaceful, and the compassionate expression of the Buddha statue allows your body and mind to temporarily escape the hustle and bustle of the secular world.
Lunch is at your own expense. We will take you to the [Tomakomai Seafood Market] ※※ to taste famous seafood. There are various seafood rice bowls on site, rich and flavorful curry rice made with Tomakomai’s famous surf clams (the largest in Japan), grilled seafood (fish, oysters, prawns, scallops, surf clams, etc.), Chinese cuisine, and Italian bistros.
Head to the newly renovated in 2023 [Chitose Roadside Station] to browse specialty souvenir shops. There are salmon-shaped curry breads that locals line up for, fresh milk soft serve ice cream and desserts from Kobayashi Dairy Farm in Ebetsu, Hokkaido, and various Chitose Roadside Station limited souvenirs!
Finally, visit the [Ice Village] ※※※, limited to winter nights at Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU. The “Ice Church” built with giant ice blocks inside, bars, hotels, slides, ramen shops, and more are very interesting!
※, ※※※ If the visit to the Ice Festival or Ice Village cannot be made due to force majeure factors such as severe weather, high temperatures causing the ice festival or Ice Village to melt and close, or heavy snowstorms causing highway closures, the itinerary will be changed to visit the Hill of the Buddha, Chitose Northern Snow Park, or other attractions, and no refunds will be issued.

A well organised day trip tour with Harbi our tour guide explaining in 3 diff languages: English, mandarin and Cantonese. A little bit suggestion maybe less time in Hills of Buddha and more time in Ice Village would be better. It wasnt enough time of only one hour in ice village.
The itinerary was very well arranged. The tour guide kalong explained the itinerary carefully and provided professional service. The episode was that klook had a wrong meeting time, but he still waited patiently for me and had already responded. He also helped me find the wool hat I dropped in Xingye Ice Village. I am very grateful to him. If you compare, you will know that the tour guides in my groups in the next few days are not better than him. There are many people and the toilet time is 10 minutes. I dare not drink water or eat the wrong things in the super rush itinerary.
enjoyed lake Shikotsu so much while Tomanu Ice Village kinda lackluster. it was a good trip factoring the distance we are covering for a day trip. it’s crazy, kudos to the driver.
Good tour during winter in Hokkaido. It just felt a bit rushed per stop (1hr only) and you’ll spend more time on the road. I would suggest starting the tour earlier instead of 10am so we can have more time exploring the places especially Tomamu Ice Village, which is a really nice winter destination. Would have loved seeing it sunset to evening. The food options for lunch at the market is good, I enjoyed my lunch. The tour is pricier compared to other Sapporo day trip options also but one of the few that offers a visit to the Tomamu Ice Village
Visiting the Hill of the Buddha was a peaceful winter moment — snow-covered paths, serene giant Buddha, and breathtaking scenery. A truly beautiful and calming experience.
The tour with Habi is a must to everyone! We thoroughly enjoyed all the sites that we visit. He was knowledgable and provided great insight of Hokkaido. We also appreciate our driver who gave us a safe ride. This was our second time joining Love Nippon Tour and we always have a great tour with them.
we LOVED every bit of this trip!!! We were lucky because during our trip, the weather was very good and everything was smooth sailing. we love both attractions and it was really a great experience! our tour guide was Hazel, and she was extra nice and amazing — she speaks 3 languages!!! Beautiful place that everyone should not skipped, good tour arrangement plus comfortable coach, the place is far from city, good choice when booked the tour. The tour guide was nice always help us taking our photo. Recommended 👏👍

The iced Hoshino is better than expected, there are a lot of people but it is not crowded. The ice and snow world at minus ten degrees is super romantic. The final easter egg was the one-minute fireworks display after the ceremony in the ice church. Although we didn’t see the newlyweds, we all hoped to share in their happiness! 😙
