Tea Ceremony Experience in Osaka

A very lovely little tea ceremony; the lady was very kind and friendly. She explained and demonstrated everything wonderfully, and then helped us do it ourselves.

Experience: The experience was great. On the day I went, I was the only Chinese person there; the rest were a family of four from the United States. We all had a wonderful time communicating, and the classroom experience was excellent. You get to enjoy matcha you've prepared yourself, and the shop also provides some small snacks. Instructor: Very gentle, and the staff's English communication was very smooth :)

This was by far a highlight of our trip. Not only did we get to experience a tea cermony but got to learn the history and the background. We also got to make matcha ourselves. It truly felt like being apart of something special and got the honor to see the tradition.

We had such a wonderful experience at the tea ceremony in Osaka. It was something we had never done before, and it was a really special way to experience a part of Japanese culture. Our host was warm, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable. She explained the traditions and meaning behind each part of the ceremony, while also making it relaxed and enjoyable for our whole family. The kids were included and engaged throughout, which made it an especially lovely experience for us. We learnt so much about Japanese tea culture and traditions, and being able to take part rather than simply watch made it even more memorable. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Osaka, especially families. It was one of those experiences from our Japan trip that we’ll remember for a long time!

We had such a lovely afternoon doing the tea ceremony. It was so interesting learning the history behind it all and the steps involved making some delicious matcha. The desserts were also such a treat! Highly recommend this experience if you have time in your itinerary.

Fantastic experience! Mrs. Mayumi warmly welcomed us and explained the history and characteristics of the tea ceremony in English (but she even had paper materials in Italian!). Both her matcha and her sweets were fabulous, and it was wonderful to be able to observe her during the ceremony and then try it firsthand. Highly recommended! Arigatou gozaimashita, Mayumi san!

What a lovely experience and tasting Matcha for the first time. Our hostess was so informative and explained the history and process so clearly. An absolute not to miss experience!!!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at our tea ceremony experience! Our Instructor Kazu was very inviting and knowledgeable in sharing the history and customs of the Tea Ceremony. The location was very easy to get to and signs were available to direct you. We Highly recommend this experience if you are visiting Osaka Namba.

An incredible experience! We were lucky enough to be the only two people in our session and everything was beautifully presented and made. Vidoes and photos were highly encourage to take during the fully season. DO NOT EAT a big meal before you go, after leaving this experience you will be hungry for more great food and beverages.

This experience is highly recommended for anyone who has never participated in a tea ceremony and wants to gain insight into this tradition. We began with a brief introduction to the history and origin of the tea ceremony. Afterward, Mayumi taught and demonstrated how tea is prepared during a tea ceremony. We then all had the opportunity to try a bowl of tea. In the second round, we participants prepared our own tea. This was accompanied by a Japanese treat. A super experience and absolutely worth the price!!!
