We arrived at The Historical Village of Hokkaido at around 10 am on a chilly but sunny morning. Redeeming our pre-purchased ticket voucher at the counter was straightforward, and with relatively few visitors around, we were able to enter without any hassle. We spent our time exploring the many old houses, each with its own interesting stories and historical significance. Running through the centre of the village was a railway track where visitors could enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, adding to the charm of the place. One of the highlights was coming across an old police station building, where we stopped to take some photographs. The staff member on duty was particularly friendly and gracious, offering us traditional police hats to wear and even helping us pose for some memorable shots. After approximately two hours of leisurely exploration, we dropped by the souvenir shop. It was a pleasant and enjoyable visit, giving us a wonderful glimpse into Hokkaido's history.
The whole place is very large and you can spend hours wandering around it. The buildings are restored in the styles of the Meiji to Showa periods. It is a very impressive place and worth a leisurely stroll.
Excellent way to spend 2-3 hrs of the day. Just roaming the place and entering these buildings really transports us back in time. Highly recommended for culture nerds
nice place to see Historical building in Sapporo. not too crowded with tourist.
it was a fun visit! get to see various architecture and nice views. bring insect repellent along though
worth the 30mins car ride from Sapporo station. marvellous well kept historical building. unfortunately most of the buildings were under maintenance when we came and thus it's free admission. counter staff were kind to help cancel purchase and its. pending refund from klook.
The park is very large, and walking around made my feet almost break, but the combination ticket also allows you to visit the Hokkaido Museum next door, which I recommend to people interested in history!
You can see many valuable buildings from the pioneering era. It's also fun to ride the horse-drawn railway and feel the atmosphere of the time. It's very large, so you should allow 4 to 5 hours for a break.
educational and fun. learned a lot about japanese culture. enjoy sapporo's history. highly recommended
Get your admission QR code instantly, making entry very convenient! Carriage rides within the park incur an additional fee. As there are only 10 seats available, we recommend queuing a bit early.
