About Your Host Hi everyone, I’m Human Ginseng, your eatwith host in Shanghai. Before opening this bar, I worked for a central financial enterprise and invested in several milk tea shops. This sparked my interest in bar operations, even though I didn’t know much about alcohol then because I didn’t drink. When I first saw this small shop on Yongjia Road, I loved it. It felt perfect for a bar, so I quit my job and became a small bar owner. It’s a simple and straightforward little place. In the beginning, customers who knew their drinks would come and mix their own, teaching me how to mix cocktails. Slowly, I began to understand different base liquors and cocktail recipes. This process was fascinating and inspired me to share this knowledge with other “alcohol newbies” like myself, so I started offering cocktail experience classes. Through this, I’ve met many interesting friends. The environment, the drinks, and the people are all important elements of a happy time, and I hope you can find your own happiness here.

About the Experience Under the plane trees, along a street of old houses, you’ll find my ideal little cocktail studio. But when I started, I didn’t know anything about making cocktails. My initial idea was just to have drinks and a space where customers could mix their own. Many knowledgeable customers would come to drink and chat, and I learned from them. Later, I met my mentor, who taught me how to truly make cocktails and become a professional bartender.

Our bar is called "Let It Rot Bar" (Bǎi Làn Ba). In this day and age, everyone is used to being tense, presenting a polished version of themselves to the outside world. We want our customers to relax in our bar. We don't have fancy decorations, just a cozy and simple bar, simple, direct, and comfortable.

Experience Process Basic knowledge explanation (including the history of cocktails, cocktail tools, Japanese, English, and American bartending styles) Sampling of each base liquor (including the production areas, ingredients, etc.) Each person will make two drinks for everyone to share (so you can taste about ten different cocktails)

Participants in the cocktail class will learn a lot of basic cocktail knowledge. We hope that everyone here can truly understand cocktails and discover their favorite flavors, so that in the future, when you go out for drinks, you can order something that suits your taste.
