Kimono Rental Experience by Wakana Kimono in Asakusa

everything was perfect I upgraded my kimono the the premium on the day and absolutely fell in love! the staff are super friendly and even though my Japanese is basic I was still able to communicate easily. my photographer Akira Nakatani was amazing super friendly and professional and made me feel so at ease as a soil traveller I had a blast and the photos came out amazing! could not recommend this place enough!

The staff were very friendly, very helpful and spoke English which helped. The location was awsome as there is a shrine right next to the location where you get changed that can help give beautiful photos.

My partner and I had an amazing time renting couple kimonos from Wakana. The staff were friendly and professional, helping us choose matching kimonos and dressing us with great attention to detail. We arrived to our session being warmly greeted by the few ladies, our family of 5 had the best time choosing and being fitted professionally for our Kimonos. Range of choices and accesories were lovely and not rushed. Venue is clean and well maintained, conveniently located near parks and yummy, authentic restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and detail-oriented. They did an amazing job on my girlfriend’s hair and made us feel so welcome, even though we couldn’t speak Japanese at all. I highly recommend this place, especially since it’s conveniently located near a temple, bus stops, and a train station.

We loved our experience here, and all the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. They are also proficient in english! Our trio also purchased the hair styling set as an add on and it was definitely worth the extra cost and so beautiful despite our coarse curly hair. The selection of kimonos was wide and all were very comfortable and stylish. Could not recommend enough and will definitely come back next time we visit Japan!!

The Kimono rental is located near Yasaka shrine. The service is really quick, all the staff are friendly, and they are also helpful in assisting you which pairs of clothing look good together. The Kimono are simple yet elegant (they have plain colors with few options of those that have patterns). We wanted the simple ones anyways, and surprisingly, they are still warm even in the chilly temperatures of autumn! To save money, we availed their couple plan, which they also offer for homosexual couples. They also gave a free picture of you in kimono at the end after you have returned the kimono.

They were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and patient, guiding me through the different styles and fabrics with great care. I was so impressed with their attention to detail! What really stood out was how beautifully they styled my hair to match the kimono—it suited me perfectly and added the finishing touch to the whole look. Their skill and creativity with hairstyling made me feel so confident and special. On top of all that, they can speak English fluently, which made the whole process so smooth and enjoyable. Their warm and welcoming attitude truly made this a standout experience. I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for a stunning kimono and exceptional service!

The staff is friendly, and the process is easy and quick when you start wearing the kimono. I booked the basic, but in fact, there weren't any pretty ones in the basic, so I chose from the premium ones. It cost about 100,000 won extra for the hair styling, but it was very pretty and I don't regret it. I really like it because it is very pretty. Furthermore, I reported it and walked around for 6 hours. My feet hurt, but I really enjoyed it! I would like to come again if I have the opportunity next time.

This was my first time wearing kimono and it was such an interesting experience. The moment we entered the room, my boyfriend and I were each whisked away by employees to our respective male and female sections. Their service is speedy, which is great if you are in a hurry, but it left me a bit dazed as I didn't get much time to peruse the various kimono, obi, and handbag options. The employee who dressed me did give recommendations though and my outfit overall came together nicely. They even take your picture and send you home with a printed photo to keep, which is included in the base package and is no extra charge. They also offer hair services at an extra charge but I opted out of that (hence why my self-prepared hairstyle isn't nearly as pretty as the other women I saw dressed up). If you have the time and money, I would suggest getting the additional hairstyle service to really complete your look. Also, I can only speak a handful of Japanese words but they had English speaking staff at the ready which made the process easy on me. The discounted price for the experience through Klook made it well worth the money. I highly suggest you try out Wakana Kimono!
