  • Due to the vastness of Xinjiang and the long travel times by car, tourists often need to get off and walk to experience things firsthand, so having a pair of suitable shoes is particularly important.
  • Xinjiang has low temperatures, and many areas are at high altitudes with strong ultraviolet radiation. Tourists should prepare sufficient and effective skincare products and sunscreens.
  • Due to the long journey and significant climate differences, travelers may find it difficult to adapt and might experience acclimatization sickness. Therefore, they should carry relevant medications and some common remedies, such as band-aids, motion sickness pills, cold medicine, or medication for gastrointestinal discomfort.
  • Due to Xinjiang's climatic characteristics, which are typical of a continental arid climate with large temperature differences between morning and evening, the air conditioning should be set to a moderate temperature when sleeping at night, not too cold.
  • Xinjiang is a multi-ethnic region with strong religious overtones. Ethnic groups that believe in Islam do not eat pork, among other things, which is the biggest taboo in their lives. Tourists are requested to respect the customs and habits of ethnic minorities to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings.
  • Xinjiang is the home of fruits, and eating fruits in Xinjiang is a great pleasure. However, be sure not to drink hot tea immediately after eating fruits, to avoid causing diarrhea.
  • Xinjiang's specialty cuisine is mainly based on pasta and beef and mutton, and the overall taste of the dishes is slightly heavy, but it is very worth trying. If you have any dietary restrictions regarding beef and mutton, please inform your tour guide in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be made. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
  • Horse riding is a relatively dangerous recreational activity, so please pay attention to safety.

worth the money spent. Everything was accurate and our tour guide (Rukya was amazingly knowledgeable in her area and supportive as our Mandarin is Limited. All are well arranged with clear instructions and expectations.
I was hesitant to join the Turpan tour after reading some negative reviews, but it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The tour was well organized, the guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the sights were absolutely amazing. I'm glad I didn't let those reviews stop me. Highly recommended! A few things to know before the trip: This package includes three shopping stops, but you can easily skip them if you're not interested. The tour leader is incredibly kind and professional, with excellent Chinese pronunciation. Communication is easy since Google Translate can be used for different languages. The tour is mainly designed for local Chinese travelers, which provides a more authentic experience.
First, the iteniary is wrong. The tour said under 30 for the group, but I was in group of 48 tourist. Second, we did not go to the first 2 places in the iteniary. Instead the guide took us to 3 different shopping places, wasted 3.5 hours of time. The tour started at 8 am at meeting spot, but we didn't get back until after 10:45pm. The guide spent over 3 hours selling extras on the bus. I bought the ticket for the lunch buffet theater, which was decent, but very little time to enjoy the show. We were supposed to spend 2 hours at the Flaming Mountain, but only given less than 1 hour. We were told we will be given food at the grape vendor, but it was just aome raisins and small pieces of fruits. I end up buying close to 1000 yuan of raisins, but was rushed thorough the process and didn't get to sample anything. in the end, I feel like the whole thing was a bait and switch, with upselling to squeeze more money from the tourists. I would recommand avoiding this tour. Don't waste your time.
