Today, July 19th, my journey was incredibly rich and perfect, from the magnificent Aso Daikanbo peak, to the incredibly satisfying wagyu beef skewers and Cremia ice cream, then being charmed by a leopard cat, and exploring the Cat Mansion and Lake Kinrin. These photos and memories are the best power bank for this trip.
I highly recommend this to friends who love natural scenery! Daikanbo is definitely the ultimate viewpoint in Aso, offering a 360-degree panoramic view of the volcanoes with excellent visibility on clear days. Aso Shrine, away from the city crowds, is a tranquil ancient temple perfect for a peaceful stroll. Yufuin, far from the hustle and bustle, is a hot spring town with a naturally relaxed atmosphere. The Yufuin no Mori train itself is a scenic experience, with large windows offering an immersive view of Kyushu's mountains and fields, and villages, streams, and forests unfolding along the way. Round-trip bus arrangements are provided, so there's no need to worry about transfers, allowing you to experience two completely different landscapes of Kyushu in one day. The itinerary is fulfilling but not tiring.
A huge thank you to Miya for her meticulous and professional guidance on this trip! The entire itinerary was smoothly arranged, and the introductions to the attractions were detailed and engaging. Her explanations of the local culture and history enriched the journey even further. Miya was very patient and took great care of every group member, always providing immediate assistance when issues arose, which made everyone feel secure and relaxed. This trip became even more memorable because of Miya's company. I sincerely recommend her to everyone and look forward to traveling with her again in the future!
After extensive research on Kyushu, I found that a bus tour is a hundred times more convenient than independent travel, which involves complicated transfers! No need to scramble for Yufuin no Mori train tickets or transfer between JR lines; everything is arranged for you. The view from Daikanbo Peak is superb, and if you're lucky, you might see a sea of clouds. Aso Shrine is quiet and ancient, with its 'marriage pine' and sacred spring creating a wonderful atmosphere. Yufuin offers fairytale shops, the No-Face character stand, and the entire Kinrin Lake area, with plenty of freedom to find desserts and snacks.
Today was absolutely wonderful. Our tour guide, Mia, provided incredibly insightful explanations for each location and attraction, along with excellent service. 🥰
