Produced by Sebastian Masuda, a pioneering artist of Japan’s kawaii culture, “FUTURE TRAIN” is a future train–themed entertainment restaurant where guests can enjoy a unique fusion of food and art. “FUTURE TRAIN” is a new dining experience space created by repainting the former limited express Thunderbird, which once connected Kyoto and the Hokuriku region, in a red plum color and relaunching it as a train bound for the future. Converted from retired train cars, the lead car is inspired by a futuristic engine room, followed by pop and colorful interior spaces designed around the concept of a train stopped at a platform. Here, guests can enjoy distinctive dishes inspired by Kyoto’s rich food culture.
