What to expect
Takachiho Gorge Takachiho Gorge is a valley formed by the volcanic eruption of Mount Aso in ancient times. It is characterized by cliffs on both sides, the 17-meter-high Manai Falls, and three bridges built over the same gorge, which, along with the beautiful scenery, contribute to the beauty of Takachiho Gorge. Daikanbo Daikanbo is located on the north side of the Aso caldera rim and is one of the most representative scenic spots in the Aso region. From the observation deck, the view opens up, offering a panoramic view of the vast Aso Basin, the Five Peaks of Aso, and the rolling mountains. It is also an excellent place to appreciate Aso’s magnificent volcanic landscape. Kurokawa Onsen Kumamoto has abundant natural hot spring resources, but few are as famous as Kurokawa Onsen. This hot spring town, with its dreamy scenery and numerous culinary delights, has about 30 ryokans (traditional Japanese inns) arranged neatly in a retro style with black as the base color, creating a truly stunning landscape.

Our driver and tour guide, Mr. Tiejun, provided excellent service and very detailed explanations. This tour group was small, so we traveled in a 10-person minibus, which meant we didn't have to drive ourselves and could focus on enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. We could also rest comfortably when tired. Kurokawa Onsen is small and beautiful; we took advantage of the time to visit the Ikoi Ryokan, which is certified as a secret hot spring, for a day-use onsen experience for ¥700. We enjoyed the unique standing bath and the open-air hot spring with its beautiful bamboo forest views.
Today's female tour leader provided friendly service and solved problems for the guests. Thumbs up! Thumbs up! Thumbs up!

I had done my research before booking this tour and knew that the Mount Aso Nakadake crater was closed. After purchasing, I specifically confirmed with the supplier that the alternative itinerary would be Daikanbo, which is why I felt comfortable participating. To my surprise, after boarding the bus on the day of the tour, I was informed that the itinerary had been changed to Kugino and Kurokawa Onsen, which was completely different from the original plan. I was not notified in advance, which caught me off guard and I lost the opportunity to choose another day trip. Although the platform offered some compensation, time is the most valuable thing during a trip. I hope that in the future, if there are significant itinerary changes, I can be informed in advance.
