Kyoto Tea Ceremony & Matcha Making TIA KiyomizuChawanzakaShop

This was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip to Japan. The tea ceremony was beautiful, peaceful, and very authentic. I especially loved being able to choose my own kimono, which made the experience feel even more special and personal. The staff were kind and welcoming, and they explained everything with great care. I learned a lot about Japanese culture and enjoyed every moment. Highly recommended!

It was a very pleasant and unique experience. The woman in charge of teaching us how to make matcha tea was very professional. We also got to wear traditional kimonos, and they helped us with our hair. We even got to walk around the neighborhood dressed in the kimonos, which was a great experience.

I highly recommend this activity! The staff were attentive, the activity was well-explained and affordable, and there was an option to take photos during the session, plus a photo booth available. There was a great selection of kimonos and accessories 🔥.

We had the best experience today with the tea ceremony and kimono fitting. 9 of us attended, 5 men and 3 women. Us women asked if we could add on the hair option, this wasn’t an issue at all and they kindly fitted us in to pay a bit extra to have our hair done. We were all fitted for kimonos and then taken to the tea ceremony. They have a range of beautiful designs to choose from. The host explained the culture of matcha and showed us how to make it. We were able to take lots of photos and videos. We had such a lovely time here today. Thank you so much for hosting us. Would recommend if you are in Kyoto.

The matcha ceremony was great. Irma was so great and nice teacher. All the staffs were friendly and nice. I came alone, and when waiting for my husband to pick up, they allowed me to wait for my husband in my kimono. So my husband can see me wearing kimono. very recommended.

My girlfriend and I booked this package. let me tell you! it was a very nice experience! the staff was very friendly! helped us pick out our kimonos! took photos for us with our phones. The tea ceremony was just us and the tea master, she was very nice, energetic and informative! It was nice chatting it up with her! and learning about how to make proper matcha and proper etiquete. after we walked around the area for a couple hours taking photos by the pagod. Seeing other guys and ladies dress up in kimonos made you feel like you walked back in time a little. we would definitely come back!

Absolute fantastic and superb! Tea ceremony & kimono renting experience, facilities and environments were amazing, entertaining, educational and highly recommended! All the staffs from the TIA Kiyomizu chawanzaka branch were so friendly, helpful and professional.

No experience necessary; you'll learn about the world of tea and its ceremony in a fun and simple way. Dressing up as a geisha outside of the NPC experience is entertaining and highly recommended. All the staff are super professional and friendly.

We had a great time attending the Kyoto Tea ceremony and Matcha making experience. My son and I selected to rent Kimono’s and style my hair. It was an amazing experience, the people working there were attentive to every detail. I hadn’t felt so dressed up since my wedding day. It was exciting attending the tea ceremony while dressed up in the traditional outfits of Japan. We also were able to walk outside and view the nearby temples. It was an unbelievable experience and I am so grateful to the staff at KitomizuChawanz… for making it happen. Would highly recommended this experience.
