What to expect
KURAMA Onsen is located at the foot of Mount Kurama, which is full of aura, and is one of the few hot springs in Kyoto that retains a pure natural spring source. With the theme of "body and mind purification and natural healing," it attracts countless tourists to experience traditional Japanese hot spring culture.
The hotel has two bathing spaces, an open-air bath and an indoor bath. The open-air bath faces the mountains and forests, and the air is fresh; the indoor bath is mainly made of cypress wood, and is filled with a faint woody fragrance. After bathing, you can enjoy Kyoto-style cuisine at the hotel's restaurant at your own expense, such as Yudofu and Sansai set meals.
Whether it is a relaxing hot spring bath after finishing your Kyoto sightseeing trip, or a special trip to experience the healing time of the tranquility of the mountains and forests, KURAMA Onsen is an ideal choice.

Reviews
highly recommended! it’s not stated here on the app but the onsen offers free shuttle bus to and from the station to the onsen! can easily be seen once outside of Kurama station. lovely experience and great food onsite.
Beautiful journey to get there. Even we get the both indoor and outdoor tickets, I enjoyed the outdoor only. I hope it's more quiet or have a sign to signal 'quiet' at the onsen.
The best onsen experience so far. The staff were very accommodating. The facility was topnotched. The best part was the outdoor onsen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent value! The scenery is absolutely beautiful! After soaking, you must drink the milk! It's incredibly sweet and fragrant! Experience: Perfect
The environment is very comfortable. Today, we experienced a typhoon with heavy rain, which made the outdoor hot springs even more unique. I really love this place. The Anma Mountain hot springs have character, a story, and a great atmosphere. It's so picturesque. Taking my mom up the mountain to experience a forest bath and hot springs was perfect!
Pure magic in the mountains Visiting Kurama Onsen was a truly magical experience. Being surrounded by mountains covered in snow while relaxing in the hot springs felt unreal, like stepping into another world. The contrast between the cold winter air and the warm, soothing water was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful and calming. Snow falling quietly around the onsen, the sound of nature, and the mountain scenery create a feeling of complete escape from the city. It’s not just a bath — it’s a deep, almost spiritual experience. Kurama Onsen is the perfect place to relax, recharge, and feel connected to nature. One of the most memorable experiences of my trip to Japan. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for tranquility, beauty, and a truly special onsen experience.
The onsen was the best experience I could have ever had. So relaxing, the landscape was stunning and you can stay there as much as you need to.
Perfect! The setting is exceptional! The ideal place to recharge and enjoy nature!
It was my first experience and I was really satisfied. I would do it again if the opportunity arises.
The shuttle service from the Kuruma station to the Onsen is very prompt. The Onsen offers indoor and outdoor facilities, providing a very relaxing environment and satisfying staff behavior.
