Reviews
Although this day tour only has 3 attractions, each of them has its own unique features and is well worth a visit. The sushi at Karato Market was fresh and delicious; we didn't go to the most famous shop because the queue was simply too long, but just randomly picked a nearby one and were already very satisfied, especially the fatty tuna, which melted in your mouth! We tried the pufferfish sashimi, which wasn't anything special. The rows of red torii gates at Motonosumi Shrine, paired with the blue sky, white clouds, and the endless sea, made me subconsciously take dozens of photos! Mount Sarakura at dusk and as the night lights begin to glow is truly enchanting! It's very suitable for photography enthusiasts, just make sure to reserve enough time for the round-trip cable car. The tour guide, Mr. Cheung, was very attentive; he always clearly stated the meeting times and reminded everyone when it was a good time to use the restroom. Explaining the itinerary and background information of the attractions along the way in English, Mandarin, and Japanese was effortless for him, definitely deserving of praise!
Great value for money. The places we went to were far from each other so having joined this tour was definitely worth it. I personally love the view from Mt. Sarakura. It was a stunning sun shining view from the cable car and from the viewing decks. It was truly breathtaking. How we wished we could have seen the actual sunset from the top as well as the night view but since it was summer, the sunset will be at 19:30 and the tour needs to comply with the set schedule. Tour guide Hedy was nice and approachable. We had a smooth ride and we felt like the timings on each designated stops had ample time to enjoy the places without the need to rush. I highly recommend this especially if you want to maximize your time in Fukuoka and visit many places in just one day.
Incredible tour led by Kevin! Monotosumi Shrine Red Torii has a breathtaking view. We had fresh seafood for lunch in Karato market/Mojiko and ended the journey in Mt. Sarakura with stunning panoramic vista. Thank you JRT!
Our tour guide, Xiao Xuan, was very polite and patient in answering questions from the group members. She was very attentive and could communicate in Chinese, Japanese, and English. She accompanied everyone throughout the entire trip. The scenery at Mojiko, including the Kanmon Bridge and the ocean views, was beautiful. The fugu miso soup at Karato Seafood Market was delicious. Motonosumi Shrine, recommended by CNN as one of Japan's 31 most beautiful spots, is definitely worth visiting for photos. Mount Sarakura offers excellent views for admiring the night scenery, which is also very beautiful. The udon and curry bread at the second-floor restaurant on the mountaintop were quite good. This entire trip was very enriching! 👍
I went to Karato Market, where the sushi was affordable, beautiful, and fresh, but I had to wait in line for a bit because there were so many people. It was my first time trying the pufferfish soup, and I also ate some very fresh fried items. Afterward, the shrine we visited was incredibly beautiful, and the weather was perfect. Our tour guide, Zhang Chao, also took photos for us. He clearly wrote down the meeting times at each location and even told us to take a picture of it so we wouldn't forget, which was a great idea! Finally, the night view from Mount Hiko was absolutely stunning!
Our tour guide, Xiao Wang, was excellent, and his photography skills were top-notch! The driver's skills were also superb! Today's itinerary was rich and relaxing. Karato Market was incredibly delicious 😋—so affordable and fresh, it's a must-visit! At Motonosumi Shrine ⛩️, a hidden gem in the mountains, the gods must be less busy, so our wishes are sure to come true 🤣. The million-dollar night view is perfect for couples, but unfortunately, it wasn't dark enough, and we didn't have enough time. Still, enjoying a cup of coffee together was very satisfying.
This activity was definitely worth it! Since we were traveling independently and wanted to visit Motonosumi Shrine, joining this one-day tour made things much more convenient. We were very lucky to have Jimmy as our guide on this trip. His initial self-introduction on the bus immediately livened up the atmosphere and had everyone laughing heartily. Since there were also foreigners on the tour, he spoke both Mandarin and English, which was excellent and easy to understand. I'd also like to commend the driver's excellent skills; although the journey was a bit long, we rested very comfortably. The only slight disappointment on this trip was that when we reached the mountain, the fog was too thick, so we couldn't really see the scenery. I look forward to coming back next time to see the beautiful views!
It was a great trip to see a lot in a short amount of time! Personally, I prefer to stay a bit longer, but it's absolutely clear and expected beforehand that this isn't possible with such long distances. The tour guide was super nice and shared interesting information about each stop. The schedule was always kept, and the bus driver was also very kind. The attractions themselves were also super beautiful and delicious (food market).
Thanks to tour guide Alex for the arrangements. The guide provided commentary in both Chinese and English. The entire day's itinerary and timing were perfectly organized. Without a guided tour and transportation, it would be very difficult to visit Shimonoseki's Kanmon Bridge, Karato Market, Motonosumi Shrine, and enjoy the sunset and night view from Mt. Sarakura all in one trip. The timing was just right, making this a highly recommended tour.
it was a just nice itinerary as the drive to 3 destination is quite far. our guide Nicole was very friendly and does good introduction to each destination. she shared with us a list of recommended food/ places at Mojiko which was thoughtful. the unfortunate part was the Tori gates was closed. My main aim was to catch the sunset on Sarakurayama, and we did it. Plenty of time when we reach and it was stunning.
