8:00 JR Tokyo Station Marunouchi North Exit 8:30 Shinjuku MODE Gakuen During the autumn period from October 15 to November 30, tours depart 1 hour earlier: (7:00 Tokyo Station Marunouchi North Exit, 7:30 Shinjuku MODE Gakuen). Please note that to accommodate the adjusted departure time, the overall itinerary schedule for the day will also be advanced by 1 hour. Toshogu Shrine Nikko Toshogu Shrine is a famous shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo shogunate. Together with Futarasan Shrine and Rinno-ji Temple, it forms a UNESCO World Heritage site. From early to mid-November each year is the prime autumn foliage season, where ancient shrine architecture and brilliant red leaves complement each other, creating a unique historical atmosphere. Nikko is also one of Japan’s three most famous autumn foliage destinations and is well worth a visit.

Irohazaka Slopes (Drive-by view without getting off) Irohazaka is a mountain road connecting central Nikko to Lake Chuzenji and Okunikko. With a total length of 15.8 kilometers, the ascending and descending routes combined feature 48 curves, most of which are 180-degree hairpin turns. Its steepness is second to none in Japan, and it is considered one of the most difficult mountain roads to drive in the country, serving as the filming location for the “Battle of Iroha” in Initial D.

Lake Chuzenji Lake Chuzenji was formed approximately 20,000 years ago when the eruption of Mount Nantai dammed the river. With a surface elevation of 1,269 meters, it is one of Japan’s high-altitude natural lakes. Surrounded by mountains with a tortuous shoreline, its scenery is picturesque.

Kegon Falls It is the sole outlet of Lake Chuzenji. Water plunges from a 97-meter-high rock cliff at a rate of about 3 tons per second, creating a magnificent and powerful waterfall. As one of Japan’s “Three Great Waterfalls,” it was designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty in 1931 and was selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Geological Sites in 2007.

We took the Nikko tour with a guide. Yuma was very friendly; she showed us many beautiful places, and we had time to take photos. She explained the sites to us, and we were free to explore the Nikko area. We are very satisfied.

We had a really wonderful time on this Nikko day trip! The whole tour was very well-organized, smooth, and convenient from start to finish, which made it such a stress-free way to explore Nikko from Tokyo. The places included in the itinerary were all beautiful and definitely worth seeing from the scenic views to the cultural and historical spots, everything felt well-balanced and enjoyable. A special thank you to Jack, our tour guide, for making the experience even better. He was friendly, organized, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone was comfortable and informed throughout the trip. He explained things clearly, kept the group on track without making anyone feel rushed, and added a fun and welcoming energy to the day. Overall, this was a great experience and a really nice way to see Nikko in just one day. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a hassle-free and memorable day trip!

We had an amazing daytrip to Nikkō. The waterfall wasn't that impressive to me but the Shrine made up for it, you could walk through there for hours and still miss things, the sheer beauty of the decorations, the stone statues and the history had us hooked from start to finish. A-MUST-SEE! We also wanna thank our tour guide Ko :) he was so friendly and entertaining, we got seperated from the group at one point (our own fault), we called him and he was super quick to make sure we got back on track 11/10 effort!

Great day at this Nikko tour, but like all day tours, time spent on each location os never enough coz they're all so beautiful. Our guide, Yurina was great, made sure communication within such a large group. I like her WhatsApp group idea, been to many day tours and it's the first time I've seen someone do it. Very good idea. Highly recommended...

Thank you to our guide, Jeffery, for today's clear and informative tour. He reminded us of important things to note at each must-see attraction. The season we chose wasn't ideal, so the cost-performance ratio was a bit low. Overall, we were very satisfied with everything.
