What to expect

The largest & newest teamLab museum in Japan This museum features more than 50 artworks based on Environmental Phenomena, a concept that the environment which produces the various phenomena causes the artworks to exist. Other artworks include the newly unveiled Megaliths, Transient Abstract Life and Return, as well as Athletics Forest, a complex, multi-dimensional creative athletic space, and Future Park, a collaborative space for co-creation, which are both part of teamLab’s educational projects.

Why experience teamLab in Kyoto? teamLab’s work is a modern evolution of Japan’s traditional aesthetics, deeply rooted in the lineage of Japanese gardens and fusuma-e (sliding door paintings). By exploring the common threads between their digital installations and Kyoto’s historic masterpieces, you’ll gain a much richer and more profound understanding of Japanese culture.

Fun for both kids and adults!

Athletics Forest

  • A high-dimensional thinking athletics space based on the concept of perceiving the world with your body and thinking about it high-dimensionally. In a complex and challenging space, you will be immersed in a physically challenging four-dimensional world where time changes with the presence of your body.

Future Park

  • An educational project based on the concept of collaborative creativity. Freely create the world together with others.
  • An artwork is created when people create something together with others. As people continue to create together, the world of the artwork changes endlessly.
