I would recommend this tour. It was very informative through the beautiful grounds of the palace, doused in the history of this amazing country. There was plenty of time to take photos and explore. Our guide was amazing. Thank you so much for a wonderful tour.
Brendan was really great! I saw his tour yesterday, and I’m at the Edo-Tokyo Museum today and so much makes more sense after having done his tour of the Imperial Palace. The explanations in the museum are a bit dry and dense with facts, and I don’t have a lot of connection to annecdotes which help me remember what happened and why. Brendan’s tour really helped fill in some of that for me, and provided me a much better context. I’d recommend to anyone — do his tour first, before the museum, for greater understanding!
It was a lovely tour. Our tour guide gave us a lot of information and trivia on the area and a bit of Japanese history and culture. Expect that there will be a lot of walking and hiking so please wear comfortable shoes and clothes. We had the tour last week of November. The weather and the autumn leaves were perfect during our visit.
This was a great way to spebd my first morning in Tokyo! Malthe (our guide) was very knowledgable as we walked through the palace grounds, and answered our questions with ease. He was also very patient as we took time to take photos in the gorgeous garden.
This is a simply delightful and incredibly educational tour that you must go on, should you find yourself in Tokyo. Not only are the gardens absolutely beautiful, but it felt truly amazing knowing that you were standing somewhere with such rich and broad history. Especially given that it was once the home of the last Shogunate of Japan. Our guide, Sneha was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the grounds, gardens and their history. The meeting place was very easy to find, and the walk was incredibly scenic! I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour!
Great choice for a tour in the busiest city of Japan. Accommodating and friendly guide, Blake. Pace was comfortable and historical tidbits now and then much appreciated. Thanks, Klook and Godspeed, Blake!
Very Interesting walk in a vast park-like oasis of roughly 1.15 square kilometers . Our guide named Brandon a very pleasant guy which in University studied history knew a lot of interesting things about this place .
Tony was a wonderful guide, and his way of relating the history of the Imperial family, the shogunate, and the grounds and dynamics of the palace grounds and district, with how they relate to modern day Japan, was interesting and engaging. Would recommend this tour to my friends!
We couldn't have asked for a more knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide than John, who accompanied us not only in the eastern gardens of the Imperial Palace, but also on an extraordinary journey through time! His friendliness and helpfulness were also great. This excursion is highly recommended because without a guide you would miss so much information and interesting facts that are the most interesting part of this experience.
2 hours seems like a long time but it flew by so fast, our guides were super informative and gave us alot of interesting facts about the historical, political and archeological part regarding the Edo castle and it's grounds. It was a beautiful walk with some beautiful views.
